ALLEN, TEXAS: Mauricio Garcia, the suspect who fatally shot eight people at an Allen shopping mall, posted neo-Nazi content on the social media site OK.ru, according to authorities. His profile picture on the website was reportedly a smiley face with a Hitler mustache. The content on the website glorifies the Nazis and murders. His account had no friends and no comments on his many posts.

Investigators have not revealed the motive behind the shooting, but his social media account clearly indicates that for more than three years, Gargia had a fixation with the Nazis. In what appears to be a warning about the mall shooting, Garcia uploaded a series of pictures outside the Allen Outlet Mall’s H&M entrance on April 16. This is where he later opened fire which led to the death of eight people. Also posted were screenshots of a page that documented the mall's busiest hours. There was location data showing at least two earlier visits to the mall.

What did Mauricio Garcia post on social media?

The pictures posted to the account in April showed body armor laden with magazines for a rifle, The Daily Beast reported. The vest, which was bulletproof, had a patch reading 'RWDS', an acronym for the phrase 'Right Wing Death Squad'. The phrase is popular among right-wing extremists and White supremacy groups.

The account posted pictures of a torso, believed to be Garcia's own, with the tattoo of a swastika and Nazi SS bolts on it. A caption rallied against "diversity.” Also uploaded were pictures of a hand that appeared to have the same tattoo as Garcia's. There was a picture of a receipt for several guns that was uploaded in January with the name "Mauricio".

Some of Garcia's posts addressed his Hispanic heritage. In one, he spoke about Latino people being White. He cited White supremacist Nick Fuentes and said, "Hell Nick Fuentes said something like that while he was on the pearl show,” he wrote. “I think I even read in the news Hispanics could be the new white supremist [sic]. Just the other day this black dude told me the line is blurring. He can't tell the difference anymore. Someone would look white but their [sic] actually Hispanic.”

Garcia had posted photos of weapons and ammunition, and his account was filled with bigotry toward women, Jewish people, and racial minorities. There were photos of men and women giving Nazi salutes with the caption, “My kind of people.” He posted another pictire of barbaric hilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, captioning it, "Pinochet did nothing wrong." In a handwritten notebook, the alleged shooter said someone told him he looks “like the type to walk into a crowd and start shooting.”

There were posts about romance and the lack of it. “I don’t care about getting a girlfriend anymore,” one post said. “I still want sex, just not a ‘girlfriend’ because I don’t believe anymore women are capable to genuinely love a man," the alleged gunman said in the post.

The 33-year-old was gunned down by a police officer who was in the area attending a different call on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Among the many who were injured, at least three remained in critical condition as of Sunday, May 7. Some of the deceased and injured were reportedly children.

'So much hate'

Social media users reacted to the new developments in the case, with one user saying, "Something stinks about the whole thing." "Does it even matter who he was? What he thought? Texas created him. Gave him the power and the tools to do this. Texas owns this," one user said.

"Looking for a through-line with neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin, Nick Fuentes and Tim Pool? They all flatter angry young men with grievances about women. Garcia's misogyny can be found in so many of these killers. It's basically universal on the radical right," one user wrote, while another said, "So much hate." "Same sh**, just different names."
