'A Hispanic white supremacist?' Internet questions Fed probe into Allen shooter Mauricio Garcia's neo-Nazi beliefs
ALLEN, TEXAS: Mauricio Garcia, the suspect who killed eight people at an Allen shopping mall, was a white supremacist or a neo-Nazi who followed extremist ideologies, investigators believe. The 33-year-old was gunned down by a police officer who was in the area attending a different call on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Among the many who were injured, at least three remained in critical condition as of Sunday, May 7. Some of the deceased and injured were reportedly children.
Garcia was seen coming out of his car before carrying out the massacre. He reportedly fired over 100 times. More ammunition was found in his car besides an AR-15 and a handgun he used during the shooting. Garcia is said to have been a security guard but it is unclear if he worked at Allen Premium Outlets, where the shooting took place.

Mauricio Garcia may have had neo-Nazi views
Federal agents who have been reviewing social media accounts that may have belonged to Garcia said he expressed interest in white supremacist and neo-Nazi views, according to AP News. He also had a patch on his chest that read 'RWDS,' an acronym for the phrase 'Right Wing Death Squad.' The phrase is popular among right-wing extremists and white supremacy groups. Federal agents also interviewed family members and acquaintances to find out about his ideological beliefs.
'He's not a white supremacist'
Social media users, however, refused to believe the neo-Nazi claims. "Funny earlier I read on another site he was a Hispanic male and his family requested a translator when cops showed up," one user commented on Facebook. "Mauricio Garcia is not a “white supremacist” name. Wonder why they are not showing us his picture? Can we focus on facts instead of trying to create ideological narratives?" said another. "So a Hispanic male who’s parents needed a translator for the ATF and FBI who clearly didn’t wear a patch like it’s reportedly stated per the photo of him unalived in his pool of blood without a patch is also a Neo-Nazi? The media is doing some gymnastics with this piece. How about wait until you learn about all the information and motive first before you try to stir the pot…," one user said, adding, "RIP to the innocent lives that were taken in this horrible tragedy."
"The last 3 mass shooters haven't fit the lefts narrative. You knew it was coming. But an Hispanic white supremist, Neo-nazi? Really?!? Y'all didn't have time to find a mentally unstable white dude to prod?" posted one user. Another wrote, "Why isn't anyone asking the important question about this guy? Is he here legally, or is he another one of the lefts open border policy's. Where did he acquire all that hardware and outfit? There is always more to the story than 'Hes a white supremacist'!" One said, "He's not a White Supremacist, obviously. He does identify with Proud Boys and was wearing one of their "Right Wing Death Squad" patches. Keep in mind, one of the leaders of Proud Boys is Afro-Cuban. It's highly likely that he was a right-wing extremist."
