In a conversation on actor Russell Brand's podcast 'Under the Skin', actor Matthew McConaughey spoke deep politicals as he called people on the far left of the spectrum "arrogant" saying that they "condescend and patronize” conservatives. The Oscar-winning actor had this say when Brand asked him about what he thought about "condemnation and criticism” in the entertainment industry of "ordinary working people” by liberals. By ordinary working people, they were speaking of those that voted for President Donald Trump.

Brand said to McConaughey, “I have sensed a lot of condemnation and criticism of what I might describe as ordinary working people — a kind of offhandedness, like, ‘Oh, they’re dumb, they’re voting for Brexit, they’re voting for Trump.’ I don’t like it, and I don’t like to hear it. I’ve spent enough time with people that are being described in this manner to feel ill at ease with it." McConaughey was then asked, "Do you feel that there is a way of meshing together these apparently disparate groups now? These liberal professional classes, and these, what you might describe as working, ordinary people?”

McConaughey took that question to heart, revealing that he thinks that people on both sides of the spectrum - right and left - have "strayed too far" on each of their sides - “I say, ‘I’ll meet you in the middle.’ I actually think that is more of a dare right now than it’s ever been," said the actor. He also added, “Somebody said to me the other day, ‘You know what’s in the middle, McConaughey? Yellow lines and dead armadillos.' And I said, ‘Let me tell you something, bud, I’m walking down the yellow line right now, and the armadillos are running free having a great time. You know why? The other two sides — the two vehicles on either side of the political aisle are so far apart, they’re f*cking tires aren’t even on the pavement anymore.” The actor further said that there were a lot of people on the "illiberal left" that "condescend, patronize, and are arrogant towards the other 50 percent." He also added that many people in the industry were in "absolute denial" when Trump became president four years ago.

According to The Sun, McConaughey explained how it was "hypocritical" of those "same people" to be telling the Republicans to accept that Joe Biden is president-elect. McConaughey who calls himself a liberal said, "It looks like Biden's our guy. Now you've got the right that's in denial, cause their side has fake news. And I understand, they've been fed fake news. No one knows what the hell to believe, right? So they're putting down their last bastion of defense."

Back in October, in an interview on the Joe Rogan Experience, McConaughey had also labeled the "illiberal" left in the United States of America as both "condescending and patronizing." He had said, “Some people in our industry, not all of them, but there’s some that go to the left so far — as our friend Jordan Peterson [says] — that go to the illiberal Left side so far that it’s so condescending and patronizing to 50 percent of the world that need the empathy that the liberals have."
