HONOLULU, HAWAII: A former US Marine allegedly planned to sexually assault white women as a part of a neo-Nazi 'Rapekrieg' plot to increase the Caucasian population of America, the FBI has said. On July 10, Matthew Belanger was arrested in New York and charged with lying to a federal firearms licensee as a part of a plan to make someone buy an assault rifle and a handgun for him. He pleaded not guilty to the firearms charges on Monday, July 25.

A July 14 court memo later revealed that Belanger was being investigated by FBI Joint Terrorism Taskforce for being involved with neo-Nazi associations, and anti-Semitic behavior and plotting. He was allegedly involved in paramilitary training with the goal of overthrowing the "Zionist Order of Governments". He also plotted to "engage in widespread homicide and sexual assault" in order to reconfigure America's racial make-up. He planned to rape "white women to increase the production of white children."

Who is Matthew Belanger?

Matthew Belanger, whose mugshot has not been released, was enlisted in the US Marine Corps from 2019 to 2021. The memo revealed that his neo-Nazi behavior took place while he was still enlisted. He is now in a federal detention center in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is the same detention center where he was stationed while he worked with the Marines.

While in Honolulu, Belanger hired a New York police officer to purchase a PTR91 assault rifle. He got hold of a Luger earlier using the same false means. Notably, a Luger was used by Nazi soldiers during World War II. An FBI raid of his barracks in October 2020 found "1,950 images, videos, and documents related to white power groups, Nazi literature, brutality towards the Jewish community, brutality towards women, rape, mass murderers." Following the discovery, he was given an "Other Than Honorable Discharge" from the marines for misconduct in May 2021, the Daily Mail reported.

The 'Rapekrieg' plot

The findings were part of a neo-Nazi organization that Belanger was involved with, known as Rapekrieg. Prosecutors. The organization has "overlapping beliefs and membership with other neo-Nazi groups such 'Rapewaffen' and 'Atomwaffen'." Rolling Stone reported that these groups have acquired illegal firearms charges, have a history of threatening journalists, and have been connected to at least one murder.

A Rapekrieg manifesto was cited in court documents, claiming that "rape ideology" was an "effective tool" for defeating enemies, including Jews and minorities. The manifesto sought a "first world collapse" in which people who have "any doubts about being able to pull the trigger on a Jewish child" will not be kept in the organization. The manifesto also spoke about forcing women -- apparently used for breeding white people and purifying the world -- to become dependent on men. "To be successful in this battle, the white man must learn to hate, seeing red the moment he lays eyes on a member of the race that has inflicted unspeakable horrors onto his people," it said.

Belanger and Rapekrieg associates from Long Island had also made plans to attack synagogues and women, and bought weapons and tactical gear. They discussed plans to conduct surveillance on a synagogue and attack it with Molotov cocktails in 2019. A high school girl, who was photographed at a musical recital, was one of the group's rape-attack targets, a source told prosecutors. The girl's picture was shared in a Rapekrieg chat group, to which Belanger responded, "Good find". "Could possibly get her pretty easy rn," a group member said, to which Belanger replied, "I'm not on the mainland currently so no."

According to prosecutors, Belanger "identified two individuals popular for their work with the Jewish community along with associated physical addresses" as potential targets for the attack. He also created a fake social media account with a Jewish name, where he made posts trying to "generate Black hate towards the Jewish community by making derogatory statements while disguised as a Jewish man."
