'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14's Chris Musgrove eliminated for huge steak mistake
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'MasterChef: Generations' Season 14 contestant Chris Musgrove was recently eliminated after he served raw steaks to the guests during a field challenge. The pressure was all-time high and Chris disastrously failed to handle it.
During the challenge, he was a part of Team Blue and served Filet Mignon with Herb Polenta, Brussels Sprouts, Red Wine Sauce and Crispy Pancetta. Each team were needed to prepare a meal with a protein, a starch, a vegetable side and a sauce. Chris' team included all the necessary items but he failed to execute the idea properly.
Chris was quite over-confident about his skills and claimed in the confessional, "Back home, I cook steak at least once a week, and so I'm ready to get my hands dirty and to get cooking." He helped Adam Hart cook the steaks calling him out for being 'easy-going' and 'relaxed'.
However, the duo seemed to lack teamwork and the messed up meat station failed to prepare the best steaks. Adam, Chris and Team Blue's captain, Becca Gibb, landed in the bottom and were at risk of elimination and the judges ultimately eliminated Chris as he was responsible for the steaks.
'MasterChef: Generations' star Chris Musgrove reflects on his elimination
'MasterChef: Generations' star Chris Musgrove took the responsibility of the meat station disaster after his elimination. He reflected on his elimination and noted, "It's kinda tough being eliminated. I feel like a lot went wrong with the steaks. I should have let my institution guide me a little more."
The Fox show contestant noted, "Reality is it comes down on me. But I'm extremely proud of myself." However, Chris was proud of his efforts and hard work and noted, "Through this competition, I think I fought hard and I learned a lot, and it'll be amazing when I get home and show my family what I can do."
'MasterChef: Generations' judge Gordon Ramsay slammed Chris Musgrove
'MasterChef: Generations' judge Gordon Ramsay called out Chris Musgrove for his uncooked steaks. He threw away the means after the guests returned the dish to the chefs. He called the steak 'charcoal' and punt one across the stadium. While eliminating Chris, the Fox show judge noted, "It all boils down to the steaks... That's what hindered the whole progression of the meal."
The judges noted that Becca should have taken control of the blunder. Gordon explained, "The whole performance on that meat station was an embarrassment. Ultimately tonight, the steaks were your responsibility." He added, "If you step up and you're gonna run the mean station, make sure you've got the right team beside you to nail it."
