New York Governor Andrew Cuomo can't seem to catch a break. As sexual harassment allegations continue to pour in against the governor, the Internet is also buzzing with rumors of his possible involvement in a harrowing time his ex-girlfriend Sandra Lee experienced recently.
There was an attempted break-in into Lee's Malibu home on February 11. The incident reportedly took place when the Food Network star wasn't present at home. According to the surveillance video footage obtained by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the incident took place around 12.10 am. Police said that a person could be seen on the tape attempting to get into Lee's home first at 12.10 am, and once again at 12.30 am.

While the person couldn't break into Lee's home, it still left the star shaken. PEOPLE reported that following the incident Lee had "hired full-time security and personal protection." The break-in attempt took place just a week after Lee revealed that some very unique and priceless items had been missing from her wardrobe, including a handmade Bob Mackie frock that was worn by Cher on 'The Sonny and Cher Show' and had been stolen from a storage unit she kept.
According to PEOPLE, the masked person who attempted the break-in was described as an Asian man, and was captured on the doorbell camera trying to open the lock. Lee reportedly told the police that she did not recognize the man. Nothing was taken from Lee's home and her property wasn't damaged or breached. While the police are still investigating who could have been responsible for the break-in, people on the Internet began wondering if Lee's ex Andrew Cuomo, had a role in it. An internet user speculated if Cuomo hired someone to break into his ex's house. Cuomo and Lee announced their breakup in 2019, after dating each other for 14 years. Despite their breakup, Lee revealed in an interview with New York Times that they were still regularly in touch with each other. Lee and Cuomo met at a party in Hamptons in 2005. At the time Cuomo was not in a good place in his life as he had gone through a very public and bitter divorce with Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F Kennedy, and also lost the race to the office of governor. Lee, on the other hand, had divorced KB Home CEO Bruce Karatz after four years of marriage.
After both of them hit it off and started dating, Cuomo's career got better and he was elected New York attorney general in 2006. Four years later, he became the governor and has held office ever since. Both of them have been beside each other in the trying times of their lives. Cuomo was there to support Lee when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy in 2015. She has publicly thanked him for being supportive during her cancer battle and subsequent reconstructive surgeries in 2016.
At the time of their breakup the couple issued a statement saying, "Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship. We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment." Although they never revealed the reason behind their split, according to rumors their split was fueled by the couple spending a lot of time apart, and hardly having any time for each other due to their busy schedules.
Recently Cumo has made headlines after three women — two of them former aides — came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against him.
