UPPER MARLBORO, MARYLAND: A father has been indicted on Tuesday, August 18, on charges of murder and child abuse. Immanuel Humes is accused of physically assaulting his six-year-old disabled daughter before she succumbed to her injuries.

According to reports, Prince George's County Fire and EMS Services found Abigail unresponsive when they arrived at Humes’s home on May 10. They were called to the scene by the 40-year-old accused himself who was there with his three other children. The child was soon rushed to the Children's National Emergency Department at United Medical Center, where she was later declared dead. Police were then informed about the suspicious death of Abigail. Also, an autopsy was conducted and the preliminary results stated that the girl had obvious signs of trauma and physical abuse. A further investigation into the case revealed that the child was a regular victim of physical assault by her own father, Humes, that resulted in broken ribs and other internal trauma.

Abigail’s death was ruled as homicide by the medical examiner and on June 17, Humes was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree child abuse in addition to other charges. However, when on August 10, investigators found that the tot had died from blunt force trauma, additional charges were pressed against her father by the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney. The Prince George's County Police Department said that Abigail’s mother, Jasmin Stevenson, has also been charged with ten counts of neglect of a minor after being arrested on August 12.

In another incident, a mother was given ten years sentence for letting men rape her nine-year-old old daughter while dressing her up in Playboy outfit. The victim, who is now 15-year-old, was repeatedly sexually abused by her mother’s “friends” at her Gold Coast home in Australia for around a year between May 2014 and May 2015. It has been said that every other day, the child used to wake up with men on top of her while wearing bunny ears and a black lace dress 'Playboy' costume.
On August 18, the woman was put behind bars for ten years and has also been declared a serious violent offender. She has to remain in jail for 80 percent of her sentence before being eligible for parole. “Your conduct was enabling or aiding others to commit sexual acts on the complainant. This is extremely serious offending and ... I am not particularly convinced of prospects of rehabilitation,” Judge David Kent told the mother while sentencing her.

This comes after in March, the mother was found guilty of five sexual assault charges but she did not accept them and yelled “it's so wrong” and “this didn't even happen”. Her horrific crime came into light after her daughter wrote about her experience in a handwritten note to her psychologist which said: “(Mum used to) come in with friends and touch me improperly". The psychologist then informed the police and an investigation was launched.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that no men into the case have been charged and the victim’s father was in jail when she was repeatedly raped by different men.
