What is the plot of 'X-Men '97?'

The animated series will pick up where the previous one ended, with the death of Professor X, leaving the superhero team all by themselves.

The team will have to overcome new challenges, including managing the ire of the general population and preserving the mutant squad.

The animated series will depict the quest of superheroes as they reestablish themselves from the ground up in the absence of their leader.
