'What If...?' Full Cast List: Meet Chadwick Boseman, Tom Hiddleston and others on Disney+ show
Marvel has a knack for creating mind-blowing content for its fans and that’s the reason why the production giant has turned out to be so successful in recent years. Whether it is movies or TV shows, Marvel knows how to cater to its audience and it’s in no mood to stop at all. The production company is coming out with a series titled ‘What If…?’ and it’s a lot different than any other Marvel series you have ever seen before.
The first animated series from Marvel Studios will talk about iconic moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and reimagine them in unexpected ways. The series will be a part of Marvel's Phase 4 which began with projects such as 'WandaVision', 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' and 'Loki'.

Apart from having an interesting premise, the series also features the actors who have played the same characters in the MCU. From Chadwick Boseman to Hayley Atwell, the animated show will feature some of the most popular Hollywood stars lending their voices to the characters that they have already played in the MCU. So let’s take a look at the voice cast of ‘What If…?’

Jeffrey Wright as Uatu/The Watcher
Born on December 7, 1965, Jeffrey Wright has been a part of the entertainment industry for the last three decades. He is best known for his role in the Broadway production ‘Angels In America’ and its acclaimed HBO adaptation. His performance garnered him a Primetime Emmy award as well as a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor in a miniseries. On the other hand, he received the prestigious Tony Award for playing Belize in the Broadway production. Over the years, he has worked in high-end projects such as ‘The Manchurian Candidate’, ‘Syriana’, ‘Casino Royale’, ‘The Ides of March’, ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise and ‘Westworld’.
Hayley Atwell as Captain Peggy Carter
The British actress entered the field of acting in 2005 and made her acting debut with the play ‘Prometheus Bound’. She gained wider prominence after her breakthrough role as Lady Elizabeth Foster in the film titled ‘The Duchess’, for which she was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2010, she received her maiden Golden Globe nomination for her role in the miniseries ‘The Pillars of the Earth’.
In 2011, she made her Marvel debut with ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and portrayed the character of Agent Peggy Carter. The movie took her popularity to a whole new level and made her a household name. She reprised the role of Agent Carter in the series ‘Agent Carter’ as well. ‘Cinderella’, ‘Christopher Robin’, ‘Testament of Youth’, ‘Howard’s End’ and ‘Criminal UK’ are some of the projects she appeared in recently.
Chadwick Boseman as T-Challa/Star-Lord
‘What If…?’ will officially be the last project where people would be seeing and hearing the voice of late actor Chadwick Boseman. Born in November 1976, Boseman landed his first major role on the TV series ‘Persons Unknown’ in 2010. However, he gained a lot of prominence after portraying Baseball player Jackie Robinson in ‘42’.
Boseman achieved international fame with his portrayal of T’Challa in the blockbuster superhero film ‘Black Panther’ and other MCU films, for which he received numerous accolades, including a BET Award and a Screen Actors Guild award. Sadly, his career was short-lived as he died of colon cancer on August 28, 2020. His two final films were Spike Lee's ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and George C Wolfe's ‘Ma Rainey's Black Bottom’.
For the latter, he won in the Best Actor category at Critics' Choice Movie Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Meanwhile, he was nominated in the same category at the Academy Awards and BAFTA Awards.
Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Born and raised in London, Tom Hiddleston needs no introduction and is perhaps one of the most renowned actors in the world right now. Started his acting career by appearing in various theater productions and garnered various accolades. Hiddleston made his film debut in 2007 with ‘Unrelated’. However, his moment of glory came in 2011 when he was cast as Loki in the MCU movie ‘Thor’. In 2012, he played the main villain in ‘The Avengers’ and went on to portray the role in four other movies.
Recently, he donned the iconic suit for the Disney+ series ‘Loki’. Apart from playing Loki, the London-based actor has appeared in projects such as ‘War Horse’, ‘Crimson Peak’, ‘I Saw The Light’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’, ‘Suburban Shootout’ and ‘The Night Manager’, for which he won the Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film accolade at the Golden Globes.
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
The Aussie actor rose to prominence in Australia with the TV series ‘Home and Away’ and made his Hollywood debut with the 2009 movie ‘Star Trek’. He played supporting roles in movies like ‘A Perfect Getaway’ and ‘Cash’. However, he received his breakthrough role in 2011 when he was cast as the titular character in ‘Thor’. The movie turned out to be a huge success and his acting was praised by critics as well as the audience. He quickly became the most integral part of the MCU and one of the most popular cast members.
Hemsworth portrayed the demi-god in ‘The Avengers’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Apart from being a part of the MCU, he has made appearances in acclaimed ventures like ‘The Cabin in the Woods’, ‘Rush’, ‘In the Heart of the Sea’, ’12 Strong’, and ‘Extraction’.
Michael B Jordan as Killmonger
Jordan started working at a very young age and worked as a child model for famous brands like ‘Toys R Us’ and ‘Modell’s Sporting Goods’. He launched his career as a professional actor in 1999, when he appeared briefly in single episodes of the television series ‘Cosby’ and ‘The Sopranos’. His first principal film role was in 2001 when he was featured in ‘Hardball’, which starred Keanu Reeves.
In 2013, he garnered a lot of fame after featuring in the movie ‘Fruitvale Station’, for which he was nominated at the NAACP Image Awards and Independent Spirit Awards. He received his first Primetime Emmy nomination for ‘Fahrenheit 451’. The actor garnered more praise for acting in the ‘Rocky’ spin-off movie ‘Creed’ in 2015.
However, he received worldwide acclaim after portraying Killmonger in the blockbuster Marvel movie ‘Black Panther’. He was nominated at the Critics’ Choice Awards for his role and won the Outstanding Cast accolade at the Screen Actors Guild awards.
Natalie Portman as Jane Foster
The Israeli-born American actress is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors of this generation and has given many award-worthy performances. Portman began her acting career at age 12 when she starred as the young protégée of a hitman in the action-drama film ‘Léon: The Professional’ in 1994. Portman achieved international fame after appearing as Padme Amidala in ‘Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace’ and continued to act in the prequels as well.
In 2004, Portman was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and won a Golden Globe Award for ‘Closer’. After doing many critically acclaimed roles in various projects, Portman received his second Academy Award nomination for ‘Black Swan’. She won the Best Actress accolade for her role in the movie.
Meanwhile, in 2011, she garnered her third Oscar nomination for playing Jackie Kennedy, wife of former US president John F Kennedy.
Josh Brolin as Thanos
Brolin started his career in TV films and guest roles on TV shows before landing a more notable role as Brandon Walsh in the Richard Donner-directed film ‘The Goonies’. It was not until 2007 that Brolin received much acclaim for his films. He took a supporting role in the Quentin Tarantino-written ‘Grindhouse’, a two-part film accounting for two horror stories.
The actor gained wider prominence after making an appearance in the movie ‘Milk’. He starred opposite Sean Penn and gave a majestic performance. He received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for the movie and also received a nomination at the SAG Awards.
In 2014, he joined the MCU as Thanos and made a cameo appearance in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. He reprised the role of the super-villain in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. He also plays the role of Cable in ‘Deadpool 2’.
