'Married At First Sight' Reunion: Did Katie's brother threaten Derek after he revealed she cheated on him?
Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman's relationship didn't work out as well as it started. The former 'Married At First Sight' couple began their journey on a blissful note with birthday surprises, kisses, hugs and cuddles but all of that soon took a downward turn and they never managed to recover from it.
The problems began soon after they returned from their honeymoon in Panama, Mexico. Pastor Calvin Roberson visited the couples to understand how they were dealing with the changes in their lives when Katie shared that she was still hung up on her ex-boyfriend.
Derek appreciated the honesty but at the same time thought that Katie thinking of her former lover while being married to him puts him in a spot where he has to continuously compete with an outsider.
Months and multiple arguments later, when the pair arrived to tape the reunion episode, Derek was quick to reveal that Katie admitted having slept with her ex.
He further informed that she slipped out of their marriage while the show was still being filmed and he learned of this from castmates and few other production people. However, Katie denied all of it.
Interestingly, in one of the segments, it was shared that Katie went out with Zach Justice, Mindy Shiben's ex-husband. Even though they were just catching up, she has had to face a lot of bullying online after the episode aired. Fans slammed her for cheating on Derek with Zach, whereas that wasn't the case at all.
Meanwhile, a Reddit post shared a screengrab of a DM conversation between Derek and, from what rumors suggest, Katie's brother (there's no way to confirm his identity at this point). Derek had even shared the chat thread on his stories but it has now been deleted.
In the chat, the user almost threatened Derek and wrote: "You're a piece of shit wannabe. Enjoy your lifetime channel fame faggot. Better hope you don't accidentally run into me someday."
However, Derek diffused the situation by acknowledging the fact that Katie has been getting a lot of s**t from people and she doesn't deserve it. He also apologized and said that he has "literally done nothing" to make matters worse for her.
