LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It is no secret that Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa often have to deal with some on-air blunders when it comes to their live show, ‘Live with Mark and Kelly.’ More often than not, it is Kelly saving Mark from these blunders, but recently, the tables have turned. On a live show, the worst possible thing that can happen are audio glitches, and that’s exactly what has happened with Mark and Kelly in their ‘Grow for It Spring' trivia segment.

As the on-air blunder ensues on ‘Live with Mark and Kelly,’ Mark tries his best to cover it up and proceed with the segment, but his wife is of no help as she sits next to him. Here’s hoping that the next time audio glitches are fixed ahead of time to avoid any more awkward blunders on ‘Live with Mark and Kelly.’

‘Uh-Oh’

As the ‘Grow for It Spring’ trivia segment began, hosts Kelly and Mark welcomed Lauran Saulters from Dewy Rose, Georgia to join them on their show as a contestant. As Mark attempted to begin chatting with Saulters, less than a few seconds before pleasantries could be exchanged, there was an audio glitch. Kelly looked quizzical and helpless as Mark tried to ease the tension with a playful ‘uh-oh’ because nobody wants a glitch like that on-air, in the middle of the trivia segment. By the looks of it, Mark and Kelly were on the clock as Mark stumbled a little on his words, “How’s it going? Ummm, I can hear you a little bit, can you hear us?” Lucky for the hosts, Saulters responded with clear audio, and the relief on Mark’s face was visible.

During this brief yet glitchy conversation between Mark and Saulters, Kelly simply sat there with a smile on her face, not helping Mark in any way, shape, or form. She barely even blinked during the entire conversation, let alone assist Mark. Lucky for him, the audience was a little cheerful as he earned a collective chuckle from them while trying to ease the tension.

Is Kelly Ripa taking a backseat?

While ‘Live with Mark and Kelly’ usually has a fair balance between Mark and Kelly, oftentimes Kelly takes the lead and saves Mark from awkward blunders. However, this time around, there seemed to be a little tension in the air, and it could be more than the audio blunder. Looks like Kelly might be taking a backseat in ‘Live with Mark and Kelly’ and letting her husband handle the blunders for once. Only time will tell how long this will last.
