WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene made her second attempt to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas after she reintroduced articles of impeachment against him on November 29.

The following day, Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce that she had been “guaranteed” by Speaker Mike Johnson, and Mark Green, who has chaired the Committee on Homeland Security since 2023, that they “will be moving forward with impeaching Secretary Mayorkas through the Homeland Committee.”

However, as Greene shared these claims on X, the congresswoman faced backlash on the social media platform.

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “I’ve been guaranteed by Speaker Johnson and Chairman Green that we’ll be moving forward with impeaching Secretary Mayorkas through the Homeland Committee.”

“I’m happy with the plan moving forward to do our work for the American people. The impeachment resolution will be reaching the floor soon,” added Greene.

She also shared a clip of herself speaking to the press where Greene said, “Well, I had some good talks with Speaker Johnson and Chairman Green, and members of the Homeland Committee, and I have been guaranteed that we will be moving forward with impeaching Mayorkas.”

“The good thing is that my articles of impeachment are in the Homeland Committee, where we can move forward, and work through impeachment in our committee,” explained Greene.

After Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke about her “good talks” with Mike Johnson and Mark Green regarding the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas, the internet was quick to respond as they mocked Greene.

One user wrote, “Johnson had to say something to her in order to prevent her from further embarrassment,” and another said, “What a clown show this is.”

“Move forward to most Republicans is a month of interviews on Fox News, a few sternly worded letters, unlimited tweets,” wrote one user, and another said, “Just resign, you’re a joke. The border is unsecure & you’re happy to milk this out for a few more interviews.”

The internet continued to bash Greene on X as one user wrote, “It won’t pass” and another said, “What a waste of life these people are.”
