Marjorie Taylor Greene declared that if Ken Paxton were to be convicted, it would be a 'victory' for the 'left'

ROME, GEORGIA: The historical trial is set to begin on Tuesday, September 5, three months after the Texas House of Representatives voted to impeach Ken Paxton.

There are a grand total of 20 articles of impeachment against Paxton, as reported by CBS News.

Some of the allegations on the road to impeachment include abuse of public trust, dereliction of duty, and being unfit for office among several others. As this historical trial approaches after Labor Day, US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to defend Paxton.

Greene believes that if Paxton is convicted in the impeachment trial, “the left will win a great victory in Texas.” As Greene defends Paxton’s honor, the internet does not agree with the US Representative.

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke about Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and wrote, “@KenPaxtonTX fought for the border. He fought for election integrity. He fought against Transtifa.”

She continued, “If he is convicted this week in the Texas Senate impeachment trial, the left will win a great victory in Texas and Texas Republicans will be the ones that hand it to them.”

As Greene hopes that the “left” doesn’t win a “great victory” should Paxton be impeached following the trial starting September 5, the internet doesn’t seem to agree with her, or support Paxton.

Internet asks Marjorie Taylor Greene to “stop supporting criminals”

After Marjorie Taylor Greene’s tweet in favor of Ken Paxton, people have requested the US Representative to “stop supporting criminals.

One person wrote, “Yet it was his own party that put him up for it, not the Dems. Cope harder and stop supporting criminals.” Another said, “Ken Paxton is literally one of the worst people on your side lmao.”

One user also tweeted, “Shorter MTG: I don't really care if Paxton is corrupt because if we impeach him it will help the left. So much for "draining the swamp,” while another wrote, “Just when I thought you couldn’t get more disgusting, you come up with Transtifa.”

“ENOUGH! Our country is NOT left or right! That's a CON used by the #GOP to divide us, so we are weaker & easier to manipulate! We are a country of LAWS. Your JOB is to uphold the laws, NOT fight against them! Ken Paxton broke the law. Quit trying to interfere with the law!” wrote one infuriated user.

People have many questions for Greene following her support for Paxton. One of the commenters on the post asked, “Why do you make accountability political?”

They continued, asking, “Are you so dense to realize when someone is unethical or violates the law they should be held accountable? Or, I guess because you want to impeach Biden for being a political opponent, it’s all projection?”
