WASHINGTON, DC: On November 1, 2023, Rep Chip Roy of Texas “voted to table the resolution” introduced by Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene to censure Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Roy explained his vote to table the resolution, and Greene was quick to respond to it. Not only did Greene berate Roy on the social media platform, but also claimed that he “hates Trump.”

"I voted to table the resolution. In January 2021, the legal term insurrection was stretched and abused by many following the events at the Capitol. We should not continue to perpetuate claims of 'insurrection' at the Capitol and we should not abuse the term now,” concluded Roy’s statement.
