'Manifest': Everything you need to remember from Season 1 before Season 2 drops in January

The Season 1 finale of 'Manifest' aired all the way back in February 2019. So we have compiled a list of the most important developments in the story that you would need to remember going into Season 2

We last saw the Stone family and other characters in action on 'Manifest' way back in February 2019 when the season finale aired on NBC. Fans were disappointed when they learned that the second season of the 'Lost'-esque show would not return to the network until 2020.

Now, with only a few days to go for the second season's premiere, here is a rundown of what when on in the first season of the show:

Ben Stone

Played by Josh Dallas, Ben is the Stone family patriarch. When their flight from Jamaica to New York was overbooked, Ben opted to travel on a later flight with his son, Cal, and his sister, Michaela.

Over the course of the first season, Ben discovers his callings and takes the lead in investigating the mysteries behind Flight 828 and its passengers.

When Ben lands in New York City five-and-a-half years after he boarded the flight, he finds that his wife, Grace, thought that half her family had died, and had moved on with a man called Danny.

Later, we learn that Grace is pregnant with Danny's baby and Ben's obsession with solving the mysteries of 828 further strain their marriage. However, the two become closer as Ben reveals the truth about the callings to Grace.

Michaela Stone

The first season ended with a cliffhanger involving Michaela, her ex-boyfriend, Jared, and Zeke — another man who has callings but was not on Flight 828. Michaela's then-boyfriend, Jared had moved on with her best friend, Lourdes, after it was presumed that Michaela died when Flight 828 went missing.

However, once Michaela gets back, it's clear that Jared is not over her and the two end up sleeping with each other. Michaela cools off on this illicit affair because of her loyalty towards Jared, leading his jealousy to flare when he learns about Zeke.

The finale episode of Season 1 ends in a clash between Zeke and Jared who fight over a gun — at this moment, Michaela has gotten a calling telling her "stop him," but as she opens the door to her apartment, a shot is fired. We don't know yet who was shot, but we will certainly find out in the first episode of Season 2.

Luna Blaise and Melissa Roxburgh as Olive and Michaela Stone in 'Manifest' (NBC)

Cal Stone

Ben's son, Cal, seems to be at the center of the callings — having stronger ones than the rest of the passengers. He is able to predict the future through his drawings, though it is his final prediction that has fans biting their nails.

In the final episode of Season 1, Cal has predicted that the passengers of Flight 828 will die on the same day, about five and a half years into the future — exactly the number of days Flight 828 was missing.

The Gemini Pictograph

Michaela discovers a pictograph of two stick figures holding hands, near where Zeke had disappeared. It is Olive — Cal's twin sister, who is now older than him — who discovers that the pictograph represents the Gemini constellation, which in Greek mythology is associated with twins.

While the first season did not delve more into this, we are guessing this means that Olive will play a bigger role and it is possible that she could develop powers like Cal too. This would certainly be a good thing as Olive is one of the most interesting characters on the show.

'Manifest' Season 2 will premiere on NBC on January 6, 2020.
