If it was news of Henry Cavill's Superman making an appearance in 'Black Adam', then the goods news for DC fans just gets better. Given all that the Warner Bros have gone through, maybe the son of Krypton coming back is perhaps the way to go redeeming themselves for all the bad spotlight they have been in recent times. Recent reports suggest that the folks at Burbank have "an intense desire" to reprise Cavill's version of the hero.

To Henry Cavill fans, this news comes as a relief after the disappointment of 'Shazam!' And 'Peacemaker' all over again. Both projects featured an 'unseen' Superman, hinting at Henry Cavill's character with faceless body doubles. Now, if the head honchos decide to take the project further, then there will be no doubt a sequel toZack Snyder's 2013 blockbuster.

It was a mixed outing for Snyder and Henry Cavill. While the film did receive praise and new fans, it also lost some of the fanatic Superman fans in its quest to give a different take to the character. Currently, the film has an acceptable 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This number is a lot better compared to the two other films that have Superman appearing— 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' (28%) and 'Justice League (40%).  The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the sequel is being produced by Charles Roven and is currently searching for writers.

This news comes amidst reports where Matt Reeves is expanding the world of Batman. After his Robert Pattinson-starred iteration did wonders for the franchise and at the box office, the director is exploring the Rogue gallery, hinting at inducting new blood in the DCEU. As for Superman sequel, it was inevitable considering how integral the character is. From starting off a standalone superhero to leading the Justice League, the Kryptonian has had a mini-arc of his own when Snyder was involved with DC. Now, while a sequel may potentially end up a stark contrast to how Snyder presented Superman to the world, that it's in development should give the superhero franchise a win.

Up next, the biggest release on DC's roster is 'Black Adam' starring Dwayne Johnson, and the film's early reviews have been rave at best. The official synopsis of the movie reads, "From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action-adventure 'Black Adam'. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra ('Jungle Cruise'). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."
