Contrary to popular belief, June Shannon and Co. still have a lot of TV to offer. Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird's statement that they wouldn't mind quitting TV sparked rumors that the current season of 'Mama June' could be the last one from the franchise.

However, Shannon took to Instagram to make it clear that there are big projects on the way. What are these projects? At this point, a lot is up in the air. All we know is the family has enough and more loose ends to be tied up. Therefore, Season 6 doesn't seem like a stretch.

Air time and how to live stream

'Mama June: Road to Redemption' released on March 19, 2021. The network is yet to order more seasons, but we are hoping it could be sometime around March-April in 2022. The live streaming information will be updated once the network announces details of the next season.

Plot

The extent of Geno Doak and Shannon's relationship has not been explored yet. Their court trials were not fully covered in Season 5, which means there are chances for another season. The couple was charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. According to a Truss Ville Tribune report, Shannon appeared in court on April 13, 2021, and pleaded guilty to the charges. Shannon has dealt enough with the shame of drug addiction, but court trials not really. This could be a part of her storyline going forward.

Cast

If there's another season, Shannon is coming back. She is always keen to be on TV and share her story. "I have a huge project that I am very excited to share with you actually a couple of big projects I’m looking forward to sharing with y’all and I think that y’all will really," she posted on Instagram recently. However, the same cannot be said about her daughters Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird and Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, and they have valid reasons for it.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Pumpkin said she doesn't mind bidding adieu to reality TV. "Even on this season, it's kind of hard because going back to the past kind of puts wear and tear, not only for me, physically, but mentally," she said and added: "I don't want to go back into that mental place that I was when my mom was into her addiction and me having to step up and do all the things that I was doing and not really taking care of myself."
