One of the women who was involved in the aggravated assault of a San Francisco Uber driver has been arrested, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Malaysia King, 24, was arrested by police officers from the Las Vegas Police Department in connection with the incident. Fellow passenger and suspect, Arna Kimiai, also 24 years old, remains to be arrested but has communicated through her legal counsel that she intends to turn herself in.

In a video that went viral, Kimiai, the passenger behind the driver, is seen removing her mask and coughing on the Asian Uber driver, Subhakar Khadka, from Nepal, when he refused to provide them his cab service for violating the face mask protocols. The video also shows Kimiai hurling abuses at 32-year-old Khadka. One of the women then allegedly sprayed pepper spray into the vehicle after stepping out. Khadka told San Francisco CBS Local that the women displayed aggressive behavior towards him after realizing he wasn't "one of them," owing to his race.

In their press release, the San Francisco Police Department stated that King had been arrested on charges of assault with a caustic chemical, assault and battery, conspiracy, and violation of health and safety code. Lt. Tracy McCray, who heads the San Francisco Police Department’s Robbery Detail, said, “The behavior captured on video in this incident showed a callous disregard for the safety and wellbeing of an essential service worker in the midst of a deadly pandemic."

According to the press release, Khadka ended the ride when he realized that one of the three women was not wearing a mask in compliance with state and local public health orders. He said that he could not continue the ride unless all of them were wearing their masks. An altercation ensued, and one of the passengers, identified as Kimiai, reached over the driver from the rear seat area and stole the driver's cellphone, however, Khadka was able to grab it and regain possession of his phone.

The suspects then exited the car and another passenger reached into an open window and sprayed what is believed to be pepper spray into the vehicle towards Khadka, according to the police. The suspects then fled the scene. The third passenger remains unidentified. While there is not much information on King that is available online, her name has raised eyebrows over on social media. 'The Daily Show' correspondent Ronny Chieng joked on Twitter, "Malaysia King does not represent the views of Malaysia."

Another user responded, "Waiting for the Malaysian Royalty to issue a statement denying any links to Malaysia King." A user wrote, "Lmao i was confused why malaysia was trending rupanya sbb this girl her name is Malaysia King." Another user tweeted, "Malaysia King lmfao don’t use my country’s name when u wanna act like shitty bitch."

Earlier, Arna Kimiai, who had begun the assault by snatching the Uber driver's phone, had posted a topless video slamming Uber and defending her actions.
