New York-based designer Jimmy DiResta has had a profound love for art for eons. After pursuing a BFA degree at the School of Visual Arts, he took up a teaching job at his alma mater. We'll get to see his artwork in detail on Netflix's upcoming show, 'Making Fun'.

Right after his graduation, DiResta formed a toy design company called DiResta. Here, he created a  rubber toy, Gurglin’ Gutz, which is an identical replica of a miniature human organ. DiResta is best known for being a TV show host, and has hosted Discovery Channel's 'Dirty Money' (2011), 'Against the Grain' (2009), and HGTV's 'Hammered with John' (with his brother, John DiResta). He is also the creator of a popular YouTube channel with the same name, as well as the co-host of the 'Making It' podcast. Both he and Jason Cameron host shows together on DIY Network.

DiResta also worked as a set decorator on Fox's 'Trash to Cash' and co-hosted the show with his brother. His work on 'Hammered with John & Jimmy DiResta' focused solely on the latter's craftsmanship coupled with John's witty humor. The popular show's tagline was "Jimmy can make anything and John can make anything funny". If that isn't talent, what is?

The brothers have a mission to scour just about every nook and corner of New York City, dumpsters included!

Ever since his TV career took off, DeRista has entered the world of social media as well, showcasing his talents especially on YouTube. He publishes new content on the Make: and Core77 channel, and also on his own. As of 2014, DeRista co-hosts the 'Making It' podcast on a weekly basis, alongside David Picciuto and Bob Clagett.

The artist has also worked on and published a book, co-written by Jimmy DiResta and John Baichtal, with the name 'Workshop Mastery with Jimmy DiResta'. DiResta is nicknamed "Jimmy Two Shows", since both his podcast and show share the same name.

Season 1 of 'Making Fun' premieres on March 4, 2022, on Netflix.
