Les McKeown, the former lead singer of Bay City Rollers, has died suddenly at the age of 65. He is survived by his wife Peko Keiko and son Jubei McKeown. The Scottish pop singer's family announced the news of his death on social media on Thursday, April 22.

McKeown's long marriage to Keiko was turbulent, owing to the musician's alleged multiple affairs with men as well as women. Who are Peko Keiko and Jubei McKeown?

After the death of Les McKeown, his band Bay City Rollers' former manager John MacLaughlan told The Daily Record, "She (Peko) is heartbroken and called me from Les' phone with the news. I picked up and thought it was Les wanting a chat."

Though the exact date of their wedding remains unknown, it is believed that McKeown had been married to Keiko for nearly 44 years. The duo started dating in 1978. He often spoke with deep respect and admiration for her, especially mentioning how she had put up with his affairs and controversies. "God know why she’s put up with me for this long, she could have kicked my arse right out the door a long time ago. We went through a bit of a rough patch but then we got back together again and everything is good now," McKeown once shared with Starsat60.

After he admitted about his homosexual affairs on reality television, his wife Keiko flew down to California with the couple's son to support him. He later opened up about how his wife forgave his 12 gay affairs.

During an interview with Scottish Sun, McKeown had said, "Peko’s an incredible woman. There have been times when she’s forgiven me for cheating with other women. I think this has been harder. This gay thing has been really hard for her to confront. She has been a big rock holding the family together and I’m really lucky to have her." Jubei is the son of Peko Keiko and Les McKeown. He is believed to be 36 years old at the time.

Les McKeown's gay affairs

A 2009 story in The Scotsman about the former frontman of Bay City Rollers revealed that he was 'date-raped ' by a man at the age of 19. At that time, the band was at the peak of its fame.

McKeown was attracted to men and even had around 12 lovers. "I've been a bit of George Michael," the singer said in the past about himself. McKeown's struggle with alcoholism was also supported by his wife, despite him cheating on her with other women. It has also been unofficially reported that he verbally abused both Keiko and Jubei on a regular basis. McKeown left an immense fortune worth millions for his wife Peko Keiko and their son Jubei.
