Maison Des Champs: 'Pro-life Spiderman' arrested for climbing 42-story building housing Israeli consulate during protest

Office workers were stunned to see Maison Des Champs outside their window as they recorded the footage and posted it on social media

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: A "Pro-life Spiderman" has been revealed as a protestor who climbed the Israeli consulate's Chicago Accenture Tower in Chicago.

Maison Des Champs was arrested by the authorities after he started free climbing the 42-story building on Tuesday morning, October 10, while horrified onlookers watched, Daily Mail reports.

The protestor's Instagram account was used by one of his friends to live-stream the climb which showed him making his way up the building in just a t-shirt without any ropes.

A concerned officer could be heard questioning him during the live-stream over alleged "wreckless conduct" as he videoed the protestor.

Maison Des Champs previously scaled skyscrapers to help raise funds for the anti-abortion movement

Des Champs, who has previously scaled large skyscrapers to help raise funds for the anti-abortion movement, started the climb to help mother-of-two, Sierra, who recently became pregnant.

He was hoping to raise funds for charity "Let Them Live" to help Sierra to "choose life for her unborn child" and to help her be financially secure.

When was Maison Des Champs arrested?

The protestor opened a can of beer Ultra Right at the top of the building after being sponsored by the company.

He said that he would not be detained for being intoxicated as the can was filled with sparkling water. However, according to the authorities, just after making it to the top of the building, he was taken into custody by Chicago Police.

What was Maison Des Champs' true intention?

An online fundraiser includes a message from Des Champs which stated his true intention.

 "Today, I am not just free-climbing a building but a mountain of hope for a young mother named Sierra, teetering on the brink of abortion. Approximately 17 weeks into her surprise pregnancy, Sierra is grappling with whether to hold or to fold and we, through Let Them Live, have the chance to be her safety net", it said. 

"Sierra's journey hasn’t been an easy climb. After a string of heartbreaks and medical hurdles, she found herself unexpectedly pregnant and subsequently, abandoned by the father of her unborn child. With her work hours chopped, back rent piling up, and family ties providing no anchor, she scheduled an abortion, thinking it was her only path forward amidst the turmoil," the fundraiser stated.

"Let's rally together as we have done for so many pregnant women and forge a path for Sierra to traverse from despair to hope, from financial crisis to stability," it added.

Maison Des Champs was previously arrested 

The protestor was arrested last May for climbing San Francisco's Salesforce Tower. The news of his arrest comes as Israeli warplanes thwacked the Gaza Strip neighborhood as Israel vowed retaliation for Hamas' surprise weekend attack that would "reverberate ... for generations."
