Bridesmaid arrives in dinosaur costume at sister's wedding after bride tells her to wear 'whatever she wants'
A maid of honor surprised everyone present at her sister's wedding when she turned up in an inflatable dinosaur costume. This came after 40-year-old Deanna Adams, who was keen for her bridesmaids to be comfortable in what they were wearing, told them they could wear whatever they liked. But, she was left shocked and amused when her maid of honor and sister Christina Meador opted for the Tyrannosaurus rex costume.
38-year-old Christina, who hails from Texas, posted a picture of her dino-suit from the ceremony on Facebook on August 10. Since being posted, the picture went viral as it was shared across several social media platforms. The post was captioned, "When you're maid of honor and told you can wear anything you choose... I regret nothing."
Christina's post garnered more than 34,000 shares and 17,000 comments. Many people commented saying that they found the outfit hilarious and good fun. Many people also praised the bride for having a good sense of humor and tagged their friends to pull the same prank at their nuptials. While speaking to FEMAIL, Christina shared that it was 'weird' to see her picture and post go totally viral.
She also admitted that it was not a complete shock for her sister when she saw her in the T-Rex suit. "About a year ago my big sister texted me asking if I would be her maid of honor. She, knowing that I'm not a big fan of wearing formal dresses and that I probably wouldn't have a lot of money to buy something really nice, reassured me by letting me know that I could pick out any outfit that I choose," Christina revealed. She added that she sent her sister a text about the costume just for a joke but she was totally okay with it.
In the next few months, Christina shared that she would randomly change her mind about what to wear and suggested other ridiculous outfits such as a Tardis from Doctor Who. Moments from her sister's special day, Christina could not afford to buy the costume and resorted to picking up a $7 dress from a thrift store. "I arrived in Nebraska for the wedding, my sister picks me and my mom up from our hotel to go to a final dress fitting, and I bring it up on the ride that I had bought it and plan to wear it, and she laughed," Christina revealed.
She also gave her sister Deanna many chances to change her mind if need be though Deanna did not need to. "I remember being surprised that everyone seemed to be doing their best to avoid noticing the elephant in the room (or should I say dino) but it was hard to see in the costume," she added. While driving home from the wedding, Christina shared a picture of her dino costume and got a massive response.
