Mae Whitman, who is best known for her iconic role of Annie Marks in Netflix’s hit series ‘Good Girls’, was up on social media on Monday, August 16 to promote her lesbian witch character named Amity Blight on Disney Channel's ‘The Owl House’. While sharing about the animated series on Twitter, she used the opportunity to come out as pansexual.

While sharing a lovely animated image from the show, the 33-year-old actress first tweeted, “Just taking a moment to say I am SO proud to be even a small part of a show like The Owl House.” She further said, “Being pansexual myself, I wish I had such incredible characters like Amity and Luz in my life when I was growing up. Queer representation is sososo important. keep it up world!".  Public figures like Elliot Page, Demi Lovato, and Jojo Siwa among others recently came out while revealing their respective new identities.

Whitman comes out as proud and happy pansexual

The ‘When Man Loves a Woman’ star also shared another tweet where she announced that she was proud and happy to be part of the bisexual community. “I know ppl might be unfamiliar with what pansexual means; for me it means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders.” She continued, “This is the word that fits me best and I’m proud+happy to be part of the Bi+ community." Whitman also took to her Instagram to and shared the screenshots of her latest tweets. One of the pictures also included of her chilling out with her dog. The pic came with a GIF that read, “Some might say I'm, Bi-Furious”.

Looking at the Instagram profile of the talented actress, it is clear that Whitman goes big on privacy. The actress, who enjoys more than one million followers on Instagram, mostly shares about her work and her colleagues or friends and keeps her love life extremely secret. However, if we dig her dating life, Whitman was rumored to be in a relationship with ‘The Umbrella Academy’ alum Dov Tiefenbach and even ‘The Flash’ star Robbie Amell. According to Cinemaholic, Whitman and Tiefenbach briefly dated in 2008 while many other publications also claim the duo is still together since 2008. If we speak about Whitman and Robbie, the duo starred together in the hit teen comedy-drama movie ‘The Duff’ in 2015 which further led to the speculations of the two dating each other. 

She publicly dated musician Landon Pigg earlier. Pigg appeared on her show ‘Parenthood’. It is believed that Whitman and Pigg were together when he made a cameo on 2011’s Season 3, Episode 10. In a 2014 interview with Glamour magazine, Whitman asserted, “Actually my ex-boyfriend Landon was on [Parenthood] one year. He was my boyfriend at the time, and he came on the Luncheonette to record because he was a musician. She added, “We're still really good friends. He actually helped me write all the music that I've sung on this show so far. To have him on the show was pretty special.” Mae Whitman also dated former ‘Parenthood’ co-star, Peter Krause. They had an age gap of 20 years and also the latter was with another ‘Parenthood’ co-star, Lauren Graham, since 2010.
