'You're the best': Fans can't keep calm as Madonna posts selfie with 'Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones' filter
Besides Madonna's legacy in music, the Queen of Pop is well-known on social media for her overtly glitzy and glamorous content that she shares with her millions of followers. Quite unsurprisingly, her social media antics generate a lot of buzz amongst the public, and her most recent one is no exception.
On Saturday, September 3, Madonna posted a reel on Instagram where she was seen sporting an eccentric filter of eyeglasses which had the cover of her latest album 'Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones'. She could be seen vibing indoors to the filter, which also added a glossy effect to her lips. The 'Like a Virgin' singer could also be seen flaunting her jewelry. "Strike a pose………with the official filter for Finally Enough Love!!!! Don’t forget to listen to the entire collection OUT EVERYWHERE!!!!!," read the caption for the post.
Her most recent social media antic sent her 18.5 million followers wild, with many coming out with supportive messages for their idol. "You’re the best", commented one user, while, "Madonna stays winning more than the internet," said another. However, a section of fans were seemingly disappointed too, with one user commenting, "Awful!!!!! Where is the Madonna we knew in the past???"
Madge has been no stranger to controversy for her bold choices on social media, having faced backlash for her earlier antics too. In 2021, she faced criticism for a photoshoot that seemed to recreate the 1962 scenes of Marilyn Monroe’s last moments. In several other incidents, she has generated controversy for her photoshoots, which many have labelled as "embarrassing", "cringey" and "provocative". However, she has also received support from several corners, with many defending her for her choice of expressions, proclaiming them to be a work of art, and breaking the stereotypes regarding age.
Madonna’s latest remix album 'Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones', released through Warner Records on August 19, has topped the album charts in Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal, while ranking in the top five in Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The title of her album derives its name from the lyrics of her 50th number one, 'I Don’t Search I Find'.
