Madelyn Allen: Utah student found naked in home of man she met on 'bondage group chat'
WAYNE COUNTY, UTAH: Twisted details in the kidnapping and rape of a 19-year-old Utah student Madelyn Allen have surfaced after law enforcement was able to rescue her. She was discovered from the basement of suspect Brent Brown's home after they pinged her phone and were directed to the location. The home in Wayne County belonged to Brown's parents and upon searching, Madelyn was found in the basement, naked and tied while being covered in coal.
The Snow College student went missing on December 13. She was last seen leaving her college dorm room around 9:22 pm while carrying a plastic bag, dressed in a skirt and jacket. Her roommates reported her missing when she didn't come back the next day. She was found on Saturday, December 19. To celebrate her return after a five-day disappearance, her family, friends, and community members in her hometown of Kaysville, Utah, came together on December 20 for a candlelight vigil, during which they thanked law enforcement agencies for aiding her return. Coming back to the kidnapping, there's not much information out there besides a few chilling details that have been mentioned in the court filings.

Madelyn Allen found under naked under a pile of coal in Brown's basement
Madelyn, a 2020 graduate of Davis High School, left her college dorm and was picked up by Brown, a man she met on an online "bondage group chat", according to an affidavit. Authorities said he drove her to his parents' home, some 87 miles from Snow College. Brown alleged that his alleged victim gave him her phone. He then allowed her to send that "I love you" text to her family which alarmed them enough to approach the police. Allen said Brown did not let her access her phone after she sent out that text on December 14, one day after she was last spotted.
Madelyn was eventually found on Saturday night from the 39-year-old suspect's parents' home in Loa, Wayne County, according to Snow college police chief Derek Walk. "As they approached the house they observed through a basement window a person with light-colored hair and a small build in the basement of the house," the affidavit states. "As they knocked, this person ran out of sight." Brown was hesitant to allow police inside but they did after obtaining permission from his parents who are the owners of the place. Officers found Madelyn's clothes and student ID card before they found her in "what is described as a coal storage area of the residence ... completely covered in coal" to keep her hidden from the police.
Madelyn Allen was raped multiple times in a day
While the suspect suggests their relationship was consensual, investigators say it quickly turned the opposite. The affidavit states, Brown kept Madelyn tied up when he left for work, just leaving enough leverage for her to access food and use the bathroom. He defined tying her up as a form of role-playing. Madelyn realized on December 14 that she "would not be able to leave." In her statement to the police, she confirmed that Brown raped her multiple times in a day, contrary to her wishes.
On being asked why she didn't attempt to leave his house, Madelyn said Brown knew her home address. He had "threatened her, saying if she left or told anyone about him he would come after her family and sister." Madelyn said she was sitting next to Brown when she saw the news of her being reported as missing on the television. She said Brown told her he mailed her phone to the Arizona/Mexico border so "nobody could locate her" and later told her that the police stopped looking for her, according to a police report. Brown was arrested for investigation of aggravated kidnapping, rape, object rape, and obstruction of justice. Formal charges against him are yet to be filed.
