Why is 'MacGyver' Season 5 Episode 7 not airing this week? Here's what to expect as Aly Michalka is back as Frankie

Last week, Season 5 Episode 6 'Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance' aired on Friday, January 22, 2021, taking us to the flashbacks of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, this week, there will be no new episode airing. Instead on Friday, January 29, 2021, there will be a rebroadcast for Season 4 Episode 4 'Windmill + Acetone + Celluloid + Firing Pin'. There is no official reason as to why a new episode is not airing this week, but reports indicate that it could be due to the delays in production because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

When will Season 5 Episode 7 air?

The episode titled, 'Golden Lancehead + Venom + Pole Vault + Blood + Baggage' will premiere on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 8 pm EST. The official synopsis of the episode reads, "The secret experimental cancer treatment Mac's (Lucas Till ) developing with a friend is discovered when culprits ransack their lab, kidnap Mac's partner, and plan to use the research to create a powerful new nerve agent." The guest stars of the new upcoming episode include Aly Michalka as Frankie, Marcus Deanda as Luiz, Jenny Cooper as Nina Harris, Patrick Wade as Ben, and Alex Dauphin as Sandra. The episode is written by Joshua Brown and Andrew Karlsruher and directed by David Straiton.

It's been a while since we've seen Michalka as Frankie, so her guest-starring could be the highlight of this new episode. Not to mention, reports indicate that 'Golden Lancehead + Venom + Pole Vault + Blood + Baggage' was filmed last year and was supposed to be part of Season 4. The synopsis obviously calls for another episode filled with action and we're expecting that the character arcs of the series will continue only after the episodes that were produced during Season 4 have actually air.

The episode originally aired on February 28, 2020.
