Spoilers for 'Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story'

They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but ironically it’s red hot lust that brings vengeance to the table in ‘Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story’

The story centres around a couple Damon (Tobias Truvillion), and Tiffanie (Keri Hilson) who seem to have a picture perfect relationship, but there are cracks beneath the veneer of romance. Tiffanie thinks that Damon is too controlling and expects only perfection from her which is stifling. Not surprisingly the couple start to have problems with their intimacy and that spills over to their sex life, just a few weeks before they are all set to tie the knot.

While Tiffanie is able to keep her doubts about whether she’s marrying the right man under control, the arrival of Daman’s best friend, an ex convict Trey Taylor (Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs) changes all that. Right from the word go Trey makes it clear that he finds Tiffanie irresistible. While initially Tiffanie resists her attraction to Trey, eventually she starts to crave him and is blinded by lust. When Trey asks her to meet him at a bar, on the night before her wedding she complies, but is in for a rude shock. Just before they are about to sleep together, it becomes clear that Trey has only been wooing Tiffanie to get back at Damon for double crossing Trey, which is what landed him in prison. Tiffanie is devastated and comes clean to Damon on the day of their wedding. However while she tells him that she cheated on him, she doesn't share who she cheated on him with.

It's post this part in the film, where things begin to go rather haywire. Tiffanie rediscovers religion and even goes to Trey to pray over him, leading him to rather unrealistically break down in tears. With this Tiffanie walks away from Trey, the spell of lust broken. Her new straight and narrow path also leads Tiffanie back to Damon. In spite of  Damon finding out that Tiffanie cheated on him with his best friend, he decides to give their relationship another shot. This time they decide to be celibate until their actual wedding night. Remaining celibate till their wedding night, is touted as being a cure all of sorts for the couple, but if we're being honest, we're not sure all their myriad issues can be solved with just one fix. The film ends however with Tiffanie and Damon's version of a happily ever after. They may not have the fiery lust that Tiffanie had for Trey, who Damon has threatened into staying away from his town for as long as he lives, but they are all set to make a fresh start with a new home and a baby on the way.

Keri Hilson is well suited to playing the perfect but reprssed Tiffanie. Tobias Truvillion plays the clingy lover convincingly, but at times his possessiveness even starts to jar with the viewer. The chemistry Hilson and Durrell Babbs also share is intense and palpable. But don't just watch it for the performances. All in all, if you want to figure out the way to NOT get the spice back in your love life, 'Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story' will be an educational watch. 'Lust:A Seven Deadly Sins Story' premieres Saturday, April 10 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
