First, it was Keri Hilson. And now it is YG, who seems to believe that there is a connection between the 5G technology and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The rapper, musician and actor recently shared a post on his Instagram profile, talking about the connection between the pandemic and the latest cellular technology.

He believes that the government is being discreet with the public about their plans for 5G cell towers. He also believes that the entire idea of the current lockdown policy is to keep people stay at home, while the new 5G towers are being built and so the government can hide that development from the public.

And now, rapper YG also advocates the same thought. His post on Instagram reads, “They telling us stay in the house kuz they don’t want us to see all them new 5G towers they putting up….. – stay woke.”

A few weeks ago, Grammy-nominated singer Keri Hilson also took to social media and shared her opinion on this matter. She had posted, “People have been trying to warn us about 5G for YEARS. Petitions, organizations, studies… what we’re going thru is the [effects] of radiation. 5G launched in CHINA. Nov 1, 2019. People dropped dead. See attached & go to my IG stories for more. TURN OFF 5G by disabling LTE!!!”

While everyone is entitled to their respective opinions, the singer was criticized for tying the root cause of coronavirus to the latest mobile technology. And this time around, fans and followers are not taking it seriously. In fact, they are busting this theory with criticisms, and of course, a lot of laughs.

One person on Twitter says, “FYI: 5G towers have been being built for several years and coronaviruses have been around and patented even longer. Stop listening to gender-fluid clowns like @YG

Another user simply asks netizens to do their own study and find out what the facts are. He shares an infographic talking about non-ionizing and ionizing radiation, in which one can see how 5G technology has very low-frequency radiation.

A Twitter user, who thinks that coronavirus is like Spanish flu in modern times, says, “These mfs acting like there were 5G towers back in the Spanish flu days lmao”. Come to think of it, if there was no tech in those days, how did the epidemic occur?

Taking to social media, some health professionals also put in their two cents. One medical professional tweets, “Medically speaking, this couldn't be possible. But love the outside the box thinking. To humor a rebuttal, if it were to be the case, gloves, masks and hand hygiene wouldn't be so effective in reducing transmission!"
