Lury and Emmanuel Pizarro: Worcester mom and her 3-yr-old son shot to death inside Brooklyn residence
BROOKLYN, CONNECTICUT: On Valentine's Day, three people, including a mother and her three-year-old son, were found dead inside a Connecticut house. After receiving a "report of a suspicious incident," officers spotted Lury Pizarro, 33, and her three-year-old son Emmanuel, inside the Brooklyn residence around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, according to a press release from the Connecticut State Police.
A third person found dead in the home was identified a day later as Jose Perez, 32. All three were from Worcester, according to State Police. The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Pizzaro was shot in the head, neck, and torso, and her son was shot in the head. Their deaths were ruled homicides, according to the medical examiner.

'Amazing and beloved mother'
A GoFundMe has been set up by Pizarro's family to cover the costs of their funeral and related expenses. The page described Pizarro as an "amazing and beloved mother, daughter, sister, and cousin." It reads, "Lury was a kind and generous person who touched the lives of many. She was selfless and always helping others. Emmanuel was a smart, loving, caring, playful 3-year old. It saddens and breaks my heart how excited Lury was to become a mother. It was something she desired so much."
Prior to the accident, the family's neighbors reported hearing gunshots overnight, as per NBC News. According to the neighbors, the man, woman, and child had just moved into the apartment a few months ago. "She was very helpful, giving and selfless," said Leyshaliz Otero, Pizarro's cousin and Emmanuel's godmother. "Her son was like a rock but when you got into him, he was loving and nice."
Lury Pizarro had three miscarriages before Emmanuel's birth
According to the family, the mother-son duo was quite close. They claim that Lury Pizarro suffered three miscarriages before having Emmanuel. "They were always together. She's always there paying attention of anything that he needs," said Lury's aunt, Naty Aldarin. "He was the one that was able to bless her you know to have him," she said, adding, "She is always there for anybody who needs her help and this time she needs everybody's support." Aldarin revealed on the GoFundMe account message, "Money wise its kind of tight and that is the reason we did this but we never thought we ever were going to be doing something like this." The fundraiser has raised almost $11,000 of its $50,000 goal at the time of publication.
