MIAMI, FLORIDA: Former New York Giants player Luke Petitgout, notorious for his repeated run-ins with the law, appears to have got himself arrested once more. He reportedly engaged in a fistfight with the waitstaff at Miami's iconic Carbone restaurant on Sunday, August 22. Petitgout allegedly caused a ruckus at the luxury eatery while his friend James Philip Bruner even pulled a gun on the staff.

Petitgout is no stranger to controversy. He was arrested for the first time in 2013 on his wedding anniversary for bashing his wife's head with her purse and throwing her out of the car. In November 2014, he allegedly pinned down his estranged wife Jennifer Petitgout at his home, ripped her bra off, and choked her with it. He was charged with sexual assault and faced imprisonment for the same. The troubled NFL star served a month in jail in 2015 for slapping his ex-wife and punching her date John Constantinides. The following year, Petitgout was arrested for possession of illegal drugs. He later received a sentence of three years in probation after pleading guilty to the drug charges.

The Carbone happens to be a popular restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine, frequented by A-list celebs like Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, and Bella Hadid. According to witness and victim statements on Petitgout's latest arrest affidavit, he and his friend "were causing a disturbance with the restaurant’s (Carbone) staff, preventing them from commencing their closing procedures. An argument ensued with both defendants and the restaurant staff, which consequently became physical.” The ex-Giants player reportedly struck three waiters with a closed fist while he "purposefully pushed" another during the altercation. Meanwhile, his friend Bruner brandished a gun and attempted to threaten the employee by pointing it directly at him. A video of the fight was captured by an eyewitness on their phone.

Following their arrest, Petitgout and Bruner were processed and taken to custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correct Center.

Luke Petitgout's career in football was also marked by controversies and disgrace. He played for the New York Giants from 1999 to 2006. Thereafter he moved on to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, where he faced suspension for steroid usage.
