'Love Island USA' Season 5 fans claim Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen and Taylor Smith will 'never make it' as the former's 'scared of distance'

PACIFIC HARBOUR, FIJI: Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen and Taylor Smith came in third place in 'Love Island USA' Season 5. The couple paired up during the last recoupling of the season and since then they have been together.

However, viewers believed that Bergie and Taylor would not continue their relationship outside the villa.

Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen reads romantic letters to Taylor Smith

During the finale episode of 'Love Island USA' Season 5, Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen and Taylor Smith went on a romantic date where the islander read a sweet letter that he wrote years ago for his future girlfriend.

Bergie read aloud his letters, "I really hope you're out there looking for a guy like me... I hope I'm everything you've ever dreamed about... I hope you want everything I want."

He added, "I want to eat ice cream on the floor when we can so easily eat it at the table."

He further added, "I want to go to a movie that's been playing at a theatre so we have the whole theatre to ourselves I want to make food in the kitchen and just enjoy each other's presence."

Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen goes against his grandfather 

Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen's grandfather was completely against his relationship with Taylor Smith. Bergie's grandfather said in the video that he didn't feel the spark between Bergie and Taylor.

Bergie's grandfather also said that he felt that Bergie and Taylor's relationship looks 'more or less forced.' Meanwhile, Bergie's grandmother approves of his and Taylor's relationship.

Despite, his grandfather's opinion, Bergie continued to pursue his romance with Taylor and proposed to her to be his girlfriend.

Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen currently resides in Madison, South Dakota, and graduated from Dakota State University in May 2023 with a degree in healthcare.

He completed two honor societies, the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Biology Honor Society.

Bergie used to work as a Dairy Queen General Night Manager and a group fitness instructor while pursuing his graduation to pay his college tuition. Bergie lost his mother when he was just 4 years old.

Taylor Nicole Smith works as a hotel manager and hails from Orange County. Taylor is also a professional golf player and played the sport for 15 years.
