Last week the internet was abuzz with news of 'Love is Blind' being renewed for season 2. Not only that, casting call for the season has already begun, with an online form available for people willing to be a part of it.

Shortly after news of season 2 broke, creator Chris Coelen made some interesting revelations about what viewers could expect from the second outing of the show. In an interview with a media outlet, Coelen shed light on the age demographic of the upcoming season, and it looks like there's good news for fans of the show who are in their late thirties and beyond.

“The age demographic that was in the first season—mid-20s to mid-30s—there was no magic to that,” said Coelen. “The whole point of the show is to determine whether any of the surface factors matter…and age is one of those surface factors, so we’d certainly be open to older…but I don’t think we would go much younger. Because I think you actually would want to go with people who are interested in a real lifetime commitment.”

Production of the show is on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic but when it's all behind, Coelen confirmed that the show will move to Chicago from Season 1's location of Atlanta, Georgia.

Coelen, however, said that they won't be making the show any grander. The pods will remain as they were last season and there's no makeover or upgrade planned for the same.He also confirmed they will not be upping the extravagant quotient of the vacations that engaged couples get whisked to. Another thing that will remain the same, according to Coelen is the number of participating couples. He revealed that there were more engaged couples on Season 1 who didn't make the final cut and for the upcoming season he has yet to figure out a way to track “eight couples or 10 couples in an episodically contained show.”

For 'Love is Blind' newbies, the show is about finding a partner without seeing them, placing emotional connection over physical attraction. The couples sit across each other in individual pods with an opaque glass wall separating them.

All the participating contestants can date each other and take their time figuring out who they connect with the best; and it is in the very same pods that they get engaged to marry without ever seeing each other followed by a face to face meeting wherein they seal it with a ring and a kiss (or two).
