NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Brittney Taylor was recently arrested following a dispute at her home. The 'Love & Hip Hop' star reportedly turned herself in last week after an arrest warrant was issued in her name. It seems like Taylor has now come out and addressed the alleged assault. She blamed the father of her children for 'abusing her' and 'painting her to be the bad guy.'
Taylor had been arrested after being accused of hitting the father of her children, Afeez Akande, with a bat, according to TMZ. Akande reported Taylor, 33, to the police on March 20, according to a report obtained by People. Taylor and Akande have two children together, a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old. The report claims that Akande, 29, contacted 911 after Taylor "approached him with a baseball bat and hit him in the head causing a laceration. The female then fled the location in an unknown direction." Taylor is accused of two counts of assault, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

'It's my fault for not starting a paper trail'
On Tuesday, March 28, Taylor posted a message on her Instagram Story that appeared to address the accusations. She wrote, "It's bad enough I'm a single mom and I do everything by myself! Now he wants to 'stop my bag' and paint me out to [be] the bad guy. Why do that to the only person who provides for your seed. SMFH... This is sad."
Taylor continued, "This is sick and sad. SMH I just wanna be left alone. I'm working on myself and doing what I have to do for me. But these people just consistently keep bothering me. It's my fault for not starting a paper trail. I should've been called the cops. And every time the neighbors called the cops I told them I was okay. SMH. I'm just so traumatized."
'He's not my baby father. He's my abuser'
Taylor even shared a video of herself being attacked on social media, but she left Akande's name out of the post. The caption for the video read, "This Nigerian man has been beating on me for Years. He feels like women should obey their man and if they talk back they deserve to be hit. SMH, He's abusing me mentally and physically. He's beat me infront of my child more than twice."
Taylor continued, "Here is a video from one time I caught him on camera in the background admitting to giving me a black eye. He's now trying to play victim and grab a little clout along the way. It's very sad he's going the extra mile to try damaging me as if he hasn't damaged me enough. He's a dead beat sadly because my daughter loves the hell out of him smh… I just wanna be left alone."

Taylor revealed that she "packed 2 bags and left" Miami since she had experienced violence even while pregnant and wanted to get away. She wrote, "He's held all my things hostage and is even selling my things. He's not my baby father. He's my abuser. Let's be clear."
"I never hit him with a bat. He's a liar. I hit him with a toy because he attacked me and knocked my 82 yr old grandmother to the floor in the process. SMH I was wrong for the way I retaliated and I turned myself in like the stand up woman I am and took my charges. There's not excuse for violence but that was clearly reactive abuse. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH," Taylor concluded.
'Domestic violence against men is real'
Before Taylor's response, Akande released pictures of himself following the alleged assault, albeit he did not specifically name Taylor as the attacker. Akande had a large gash on his eyebrow in one picture, and his face was covered in blood. One more revealed blood splatters on the ground beneath him.

The caption read, "Domestic violence against men is real and should be taken seriously. I’ve been bullied way too long. This is one instance of what happened when I flew to NYC to see my kids… Never again," along with the graphic images.
