In the recent past, much of what categorizes as entertainment has shone a light on therapy, whether it is in a group, couple, or singular. Shows such as 'Intervention' or 'Marriage Bootcamp' have attempted to normalize topics that are usually stigmatized such as relationship struggles or depression. 'Lost Resort' is a reality series coming to TBS from the producers of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,' this late July bringing viewers the journey of nine different strangers that have the opportunity to heal from what they want to at a wellness retreat. While drama is inevitable, the therapy sessions look intriguing. Here is what we know of the upcoming release:

Release date

'Lost Resort' premieres on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, "'Lost Resort' follows nine strangers at their breaking points to an exotic wellness retreat where they embark on a voyage of self-discovery against a tropical backdrop. Working with an eclectic team of alternative healers who push them to their limits, the group experiences everything from rage rituals and vulnerability circles to orgasmic healing. As the emotional barriers crumble, the upstairs/downstairs drama explodes; the motley crew hooks up, breaks up, and opens up in ways they’d never expect. From a married couple on the brink to a mother/daughter pair with serious trust issues and a hothead with a painful past, the guests come from all walks of life hoping to leave better than they arrived."

Creators

The series is from ITV America’s Sirens Media, the producers of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey.' We will update the article once more details are out.

Trailer

The trailer promises inevitable drama as the nine people experience the different ways of healing in activities that seem to shock more than a few. The intriguing aspect seems to definitely be the eccentric activities the group engages with. We see a few of the nine introduced in the trailer, along with their experiences, and it definitely seems to be an eye-opening reality series as it showcases a different type of wellness retreat.
