DUXBURY, MASSACHUSETTS: Postpartum depression (PPD) is reported to have affected Lindsay Marie Clancy, 32, a Massachusetts midwife who is accused of killing her two young children by strangulation. She also made an attempt to kill her seven-year-old infant before attempting to kill herself.
Lindsay Clancy, 32, allegedly killed her daughter Cora, five, and son Dawson, three, and tried to strangle her baby son inside their family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and after that, she plunged from the second-floor window. When Patrick, her shocked 34-year-old husband, arrived home from work at around 6 pm on Tuesday, he saw Clancy lying motionless outside their house, and following that he immediately dialed 911.

Twenty-five minutes is all it took for Clancy to do the unthinkable as her PPD allegedly triggered. "Her husband Patrick, who worked from home had gone out to get a take-out order," as per reports.
"I was told Lindsay Clancy was in a very intensive five-day-a-week program for PPD, trying to get help. Curious to hear a statement from the individuals treating her and what was missed. Sounds like she was in a desperate situation," a family friend reportedly told on John DePetro Show.
Friend of Lindsay Clancy told me tonight: “ her husband was working from home instead of going in to work to be able to try and support her daily while she went to a program 5 days a week for PPD. And in the 25 minutes it took him to pick up take out, the unthinkable happened.”

When officers arrived at the family home on Tuesday they discovered the three young children "unconscious upstairs with obvious signs of trauma." It appears they had all been strangled, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said as per the Daily Mail. The seven-month-old boy was airlifted to Boston's Children's Hospital where he is alive and receiving medical care. Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, were both declared dead when they arrived at the hospital. The baby, according to witnesses, received CPR on the spot.
While authorities are yet to confirm if she suffered from PPD, the same is being investigated. She was on leave from her job as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. Clancy is still hospitalized under police custody and will be arraigned as soon as she is physically able, as per CBS News. She received her nursing license in 2014, according to state records, and holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

Lindsay earned a biology degree from Quinnipiac University in 2012, the announcement said, after graduating from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Conn, in 2008. Lindsay, however, appeared to contend with her life as she once wrote on Facebook, "So unbelievably thankful for this family and life," while sharing a picture of herself and her husband along with her three children.
Lindsay Clancy’s father-in-law, Christopher Clancy, told Boston Globe “We’re all heartbroken right now,” he said. The children's aunt Donna Jesse shared, “They were beautiful, beautiful children.” Rita Musgrove, their great-grandmother “It’s pretty shocking.”
