Who killed ARoy? Only The Family rapper shot and murdered on camera in Chicago
Only The Family rapper ARoy was shot and murdered on camera during a Facebook Live video on Monday, December 13, after a violent confrontation with the suspect in Chicago's O'Block.
In the Facebook Live video of the encounter, ARoy can be seen pummeling the guy and saying, "You're a grown-ass man. I’ll fuck you up!” The man laid still on the ground and while it seemed that the conflict was over and ARoy began walking away, the man pulled out a revolver and fired it several times into ARoy's torso. According to reports, the 26-years-old victim was sent to the University of Chicago Hospital in a serious condition where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to a Chicago police report, the crime occurred about 1.50 pm in the 6400 block of S King Drive. The homicide squad is currently investigating the murder and hasn't provided any other information, but the gunman, who left the scene, is yet to be apprehended.

Who was ARoy?
ARoy, whose real name is James Johnson, was a Chicago rapper and a member of the hip-hop group The Mistakes. He was also a part of Lil Durk's Chicago rap collective, Only The Family, which was founded in 2010. He was a resident of Chicago's O Block, one of the city's most dangerous districts, infamous for its gangs.

ARoy is the latest name to be added to the list of Lil Durk's The Family Group members who have been shot and killed. Dontay Banks Jr, brother of Lil Durk, was recently shot dead outside a nightclub. In 2020, Durk's buddy and rapper King Von was killed outside Atlanta's Monaco Hookah Lodge. Earlier, King Von got into a fight with Quando Rondo and his gang, which resulted in his death.
Meanwhile, ARoy's followers and friends paid their tributes in the comments section of the rapper's last Instagram post following his death.
One fan commented, “Damn Rest in paradise”. Another person added, “Rip hope GOD got u in his gloryyyyyy.”
