Missing lesbian couple found dead at Utah campsite were freaked out by weirdo
MOAB, UTAH: It was going to be just a camp night for 24-year-old Kylen Schulte and 38-year-old Crystal Bec. But it did not work out as per plan. The two were found shot and killed in the middle of Utah wilderness after they were reportedly "spooked" by a man near their campsite, then disappearing for four days. The couple, who was recently married, spent a lot of time camping.
As per the latest reports, Schulte and Beck were camping in the mountains of Moab, Utah, about a week ago when they vanished. On Wednesday night, August 18, 2021, the two bodies were discovered near the South Mesa area of La Sal Loop Road. The next day, on Thursday evening, police identified them as the missing women. Their bodies were then reportedly transferred to the state medical examiner's office.

According to the local reports, the two women were last seen on August 14, 2021, after telling their close friends that they moved campsites because they had been "spooked by a weirdo" man camping near them.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Schulte's father Sean-Paul called for the Moab community to help find "my girls" after not hearing from them. He reported that the girls, "Haven't been to work. Haven't called. Not in hospital. Not in Moab jail," but police were searching for them.
“Kylen and Crystal told close friends that there was a weirdo camping near them that was freaking them out !!! And that they should move campsites,” Sean-Paul wrote in the Facebook post. “Now they have been missing for over 4 days and nights!”
Sean-Paul posted again a day later reporting the girls had been missing for four nights and days. He said, "Moab PLEASE PLEASE FIND MY GIRLS." In an updated post, he begged Moab not to give up on finding his daughter's killer and asked them to interview everyone who was on the mountain. He wrote, "Moab. This is Kylen and Crystals dad. Please please 'DO NOT STOP !!!!'
As per the latest reports, the sheriff's office released a statement saying they are looking into all avenues provided by those who come forward. "We are currently following up with what comes to our attention during this investigation and will continue to be available to people to come forward with information," the sheriff’s office reportedly said.
The father reported that a person of interest had been questioned and released by police, but his daughter's killer was still out there.
In the GoFundMe page made for Schulte, the family called her the "moon and the stars since the day she was born". The GoFundMe page was created to help Sean-Paul pay for funeral expenses for the two women. Their aunt wrote on the GoFundMe page, "They found their way from the best campsite to the next." The page has managed to raise $29,401 of $15,000 goal when this report was published.
