'Legacies' Season 2: What is next for Salvatore School's favorite vampires MG and Kaleb in the new season?
With the second season of the spinoff of a spinoff, 'Legacies', coming up in a few days, fans are wondering what they can look forward to for their favorite characters. While we have many clues with respect to Hope, Landon, Lizzie, Josie, and Alaric, we have not been given a clear picture of what is up for Salvatore School's two favorite vampires, Kaleb and MG.
We met the two in the first season: MG is the friendly boy crushing on Lizzie and Kaleb is the rebellious cool one - kind of like the Stefan and Damon equivalent of 'Legacies'.' Like Stefan, MG has a ripper side that killed Landon (who happened to be a phoenix thankfully) and he had to learn to control that side. And like Damon, Kaleb thinks it is better for the students if they are allowed to drink human blood (in moderation, of course) so they are not too weak to deal with enemies. By the end of the first season, Alaric seems to agree although, in the upcoming season, he won't be the Headmaster of the Salvatore School anymore.
MG is still pining for Lizzie, although the presence of a new old vampire, Sebastian would certainly throw a wrench in his plans. Sebastian is teased to be a "really old vampire" with old ideas and will likely be a love interest for Lizzie. But MG might not be heartbroken too long, because it would he too would have someone new this season. Ebboney Wilson has been cast as Kym, "a fearless, confident and sexy human girl whose meet-cute with MG leaves her curious to know more about his world." We've been teased that we will see more of the human world so there are other new human characters introduced as well. But will MG be able to control his lust for blood with Kym?
We have not been given any teases about Kaleb so far, but as the de facto leader of the vampires at the Salvatore School, he is bound to feature a lot. We don't know much of his history and we hope that the second season explores a bit of his past and see where he comes from. Kaleb is one of the most interesting vampires in a franchise which includes the likes of Damon and Klaus. How a young vampire like Kaleb seemed to have developed more self-control than Damon or Klaus ever did would also need to be explored.
Of course, we would love to see more of the bromance between Kaleb and MG. Both characters went from acquaintances to sort-of-enemies to good friends who understood and trust each other.
'Legacies' returns to The CW on Thursday, October 10th.
