'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 12: Kai Parker's delightfully snarky return unleashes dark Josie
It's the episode of 'Legacies' that we have all been waiting for. Kai Parker is back in his whole snarky, charming self. And he is still up to no good. Maybe Julie Plec should consider a spin-off with Kai Parker and his brilliant one-liners.
When Alaric Saltzman and his daughters gather their bearings, Alaric emphasizes the need to protect themselves. It's not just Kai they need to be worried about, however. There are three very angry supernatural teenagers who are hellbent on getting back at Alaric.
Kai tells Josie Saltzman that Diego, Jade and Wendy (the aforementioned teenagers) are hunting him. He eventually gains Josie's trust who gives him the key piece of information that she has Bennett blood on her.
In true Kai Parker fashion, he reveals that Jade and he have been working together all along and leaves Alaric and Josie to be tortured by the former Salvatore School students. but he lets Josie keep the mora miserium.
While Jade plays "hide and seek", Wendy and Diego comes to learn something we have always known: Never trust Kai. Kai himself comes to learn something else — our girl, Josie, may be much younger, but she is still a step ahead of him. The Bennett blood he took from her is not, in fact, Bennett blood.
In the last few minutes of the episode, Kai surprisingly decides to help Josie — while also (and again, in true Kai fashion) screwing her over. He tells her she does not need the Bennett blood to get out of the prison world. All Josie needs to do is break the mora miserium and absorb the black magic — she will become powerful enough to make her way out.
Of course, Kai also gives her a time limit of a few seconds to do so. Kai has found the portal to Malivore in the prison world. Before he jumps in, Josie breaks the sand clock and begins to absorb all the power, thereby unleashing dark Josie.
What comes next? We will have to find out when 'Legacies' airs on The CW next Thursday night.
