'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 10: Alyssa exposes Alaric's dark secret, hints at how Kai Parker will return
This week's episode of 'Legacies' showed us a little bit from the past of Alyssa Chang (Olivia Liang), one of the witches who attends the Salvatore School. We know she is an orphan and she comes from a troubled background.
As a child, Alyssa caused many problems, including harming other students. When she attacked Lizzie (Jenny Boyd), Alaric Saltzman( Matthew Davis)-- the headmaster -- wanted to expel Alyssa, but Emma (Karen David) -- one of the teachers and also a witch -- wanted to try something different.
Emma also tells him that Alyssa is different and shouldn't be sent to where the other students were. So, Emma persuades Alaric to let her erase Alyssa's mind and help her start fresh at the school. This goes well. However, after Josie Saltzman( Kaylee Bryant) performed the purge spell that brought back everyone's memories of Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), it also caused Alyssa to get her memories back. And it seems that she has been planning her revenge for a while.
While Josie and Lizzie perform a spell to create a prison world to send the mora miserium to so that Josie won't be affected if it breaks, Alyssa performs a spell of her own with a time delay added on. She spells the Ascendant so that Alaric, Josie, and Lizzie are sent to the prison world -- the one the twins created when they were five years old (which we saw in 'The Vampire Diaries').
But, it isn't just Alaric and his daughters there. As Alyssa explains her plan to Emma before she erases the latter's mind, we learn that Alaric sends problematic students to this prison world. When we see Alaric and his daughters in the prison world, we learn that one of these students included Sebastian(Thomas Doherty), who interrupts just in time for Lizzie to understand her father's betrayal.
And while Alaric has to deal with the ire of all the students he sent there, there might a bigger concern. After all, this is the prison world that Kai Parker(Chris Wood) is in -- and now we know how Kai will return to the show.
Though Chris Wood's return as Kai is only in episode 12 -- which is two weeks away -- it is quite likely that we will get more mentions of him in the next episode and he may very well be working with the "expelled" students to exact vengeance on Alaric.
