If you're all caught up with the 'Legacies' storyline, you know just how important the mysterious knife was - introduced to us in the first episode.  In last week's episode 8 of the show, we came across another mysterious artifact - a mythical looking urn that appears to call out to Landon in Seylah's home. Not much is known about the urn, however, is it the second key to keeping Malivore contained? More importantly, will Hope be in the same situation as Landon was?

Magical artifacts are a huge part of the 'Legacies' universe. From Hope's magical GPS bracelet to the knife, these objects have had important parts to play. The knife had been an object of interest right from the beginning. Every monster that has come after the Salvatore School for the Young and the Gifted appeared to be chasing the knife and up until The Necromancer destroyed it, they wouldn't stop showing up. However, when The Necromancer did destroy it, he revealed something crucial - the knife was one of the three keys to keeping Malivore from swallowing life as we know it. Is it possible that this mysterious funerary urn is another such thing?

When Landon spots it in Seylah's home in Kansas, he reaches out to touch it. Once again, as the knife had, this too seemed to call out to him. Seylah, however, stops him before he can get too close. Landon seemed to be drawn to this urn like he was to the knife. Then, at the end of the episode when Alaric, Hope, and Landon come back to school after the incident at the military facility, Hope tells Alaric that she had picked it up when they regained consciousness at the military facility. Hope had put her bracelet into the urn in order to track the monster that came in through the sewers when they left the motel as it ran to the facility containing Malivore.

It should be noted that the attraction between the urn and Hope wasn't as crazy as London had been with the knife, which makes us wonder if Hope is the only one that is supposed to be unaffected by Malivore's magic because of her Tribrid nature. However, the upcoming episode does feature a monster, so it wouldn't be too far fetched to say that they're back because of the urn. However, unlike the last couple of creatures we've seen, this one can harm you through your dreams - it turns your worst fears into nightmares where you're stuck for eternity. It is possible that this urn is a stronger key than the knife - wherein it brings in monsters that can manipulate your mind.

The promo shows a monster that looks a lot like a representation of death, with its black veils and a skeletal face. A creature that looks like death stops by right after you bring a mystical funeral urn to the school surely cannot be a coincidence.
