'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 6: Fans rejoice as Freya reunites with Hope, names her son after Klaus
The much-awaited episode of 'Legacies' featuring Hope's aunt, Freya Mikaelson, finally aired, and though for the slight complaint of not having enough of Freya, fans loved the episode.
Josie discovered Penelope's journal in last week's episode and we learn that she read Lizzie's journal entry where she wrote about remembering Hope Mikaelson. And so Josie goes on a trip to the French Quarter in New Orleans to meet the only other Mikaelson witch, Freya.
Josie knows that the dark spell from the Japanese sword helped Lizzie get her memories back and so she wants to "reverse-engineer" the spell to use on everyone and seeks out Freya's help to do so. However, she has not told Freya everything, and it turns out, Josie can either use the spell to bring back everyone's memories or erase their memories of Hope for good.
Once Freya figures this out, Josie blasts her with a spell and she passes out. We don't see her until the end of the episode after Josie has performed the spell to return everyone's memories of Hope. What follows is a sweet reunion between aunt and niece at a moment when Hope needed her the most.
Understandably, fans were ecstatic at Freya's return and we agree with them when they say Julie Plec should bring back Freya for more episodes. Of course, we also get the little tidbit that Freya named her son after Klaus, Hope's father, and to be honest, we would definitely love to see more of little Nik.
One fan tweeted, "So glad that Hope got to see Freya. And that Freya got to see Hope. Great episode. Sad that we didn't have more Freya but still a great episode #legacies." Fans did not miss Hope's vulnerability as she greeted her aunt for the first time in the spinoff. One viewer wrote, "the way Hope's voice wobbled when she said "aunt Freya?" I'm sorry but I'll never get over that #Legacies."
