Man claims prostitute stole his $35k Rolex after he let her 'REST' in his room
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: A woman was arrested after a man accused her of stealing his $35,000 Rolex watch. Deonna McCray of Los Angeles was reportedly taken into custody on Monday, August 15. She has reportedly been charged with felony counts of grand larceny and residential burglary.
The complainant, whose identity has not been revealed, claimed that on June 21 he was on the Cosmopolitan’s casino floor when two women came to him to talk. As per the Las Vegas police report, the man told the police that “he knew the females were probably prostitutes” because of some of their actions and statements but claimed, “he was not interested in anything of the sort."

The approaching women reportedly told the man that they were exhausted and hungry and needed someplace to relax. So, he handed them over his room keys while he chose to stay in the casino. However, later in the night, he checked into his room to find both the women were sleeping inside. He also got to know that around two in the night, they had ordered food.
The man then apparently fell asleep as well but when he woke up the next morning at eight, he discovered his things were not in place, his watch was missing, and also one of the women was nowhere to be seen. The other woman was still in the room, however, she claimed not to know anything about the theft. Soon, the victim reportedly approached the police and an investigation was launched that saw officer checking video surveillance and interrogating the second woman.
Eventually, the 32-year-old McCray was identified by Las Vegas police as they went through her earlier arrest reports. The man also confirmed that it was McCray after seeing her photo. It has been said that the accused was earlier arrested in Las Vegas on an accusation of taking away $20,000 worth of Rolex as well as cash. Not just that, she had also allegedly stolen a Bulova watch and “approximately $35,000 in cash” in another incident.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal citing Las Vegas Justice Court records reported that a few months ago, “McCray entered a no contest plea to theft, resolving two cases, and received a suspended jail sentence of six months in each.” At the time, she was asked to “stay out of trouble for a year and to stay out of the Strip corridor.”
Meanwhile, in this June case, McCray got released from jail after a bail bond company paid $50 surety money. It has been said that on September 13, a status hearing is likely to be held. The case has attracted some attention online as well as a user tweeted, “House arrest on her way!” The second one wrote, “She'll get community service and or fine. BUT if she would have stolen the Rolly from a BANK.................COMPLETELY different story!!! THIS is the actual problem in the country concerning criminal justice.”
