With Gavin's ambiguous past coming to light, it is now evident that his connection to land under might be more profound than he is aware of. The group votes to have Eve and Marybeth (Karina Logue) banished with the survivors, as Marybeth would not give up her gun. When it came down to voting, Josh was quick to oust his mother, as he was angry that she ruined his chance to escape, even though she insisted that he would have died in the plane crash. After Marybeth and Lucas (Josh McKenzie) are caught under massive debris due to the storm, Josh and Riley (Veronica St. Clair) decide to locate an 18 wheeler that was spotted in hopes that it had some equipment to help free Marybeth and Lucas. Instead, they found a wardrobe truck, which fans thought was all too convenient.

"A whole wardrobe truck landed basically undamaged and they could drive it back to camp? #LaBrea" asked a fan. "Convient way to change clothes, upright wardrobe truck. #LaBrea" joked another. "Shouldn't they bring more clothes back in case the weather is all again in two seconds #LaBrea" asked a fan, seeing that Scott explained that they were in the ice age with massive storms frequently occurring. Yet, one jacked per person seemed to be more than enough.

After Eve, Sam (Jon Seda), Scott (Rohan Mirchandaney) and Levi (Nicholas Gonzalez) managed to free Marybeth and Lucas, the group voted again if Marybeth and Eve could stay. This time around, Josh supported his mother after having had a pep talk with Riley. Josh and Eve reconciled, but fans were, however, over his character's behavior.

"#LaBrea Well, I guess I'm sorry I voted to send you to your death in the wilderness, mom." tweeted a fan. "Oh *now* Josh wants to be a good guy? there's no way in a situation like this that a bunch of people care what a high schooler thinks. ew no thanks #LaBrea" added another. "You don't get to call for a new vote. Eve should leave to spite Josh. #LaBrea" added a fan. "There are like 8 different bonkers mysteries happening in La Brea and I'm here for it this show is crazy dumb and great because of it" joked a fan.
