With their chances of escaping the mysterious land, Scott (Rohan Mirchandaney) manages to break down the math, realizing that they have roughly 18 hours before the tear in the sky closes. Each of the survivors is now losing hope -- but Levi (Nicholas Gonzalez) continues his efforts. Using the walkie-talkie he found in the hamlet, he manages to make contact with another survivor from the Mohave mission -- he soon realises that it is Diana (Vanessa Buckley), Dr Nathan's (Virginie Laverdure) fiance. Eve (Natalie Zea) and Levi go to find her, seeing that she is in Santa Monica.
When they do, Diana is nervous about thier presence, but soon realises that Levi was sent on a rescue mission and that together, they might even be able to fix Levi's plane. With the hope that they might make it out alive, the survivors begin to draw lots as to who should leave first, with Josh and Lucas making out to the group. While their mission is underway, back in the modern-day, Agent Markmen shows up to shut down Aldridge's (Aldridge) programme, when they discover the wreckage of Levi's plane, along with carbon signatures of multiple bodies. Gavin (Eoin Macken) is now desperate to tell Eve not to attempt their own rescue mission and manages to send out a drone with a message telling her to wait as he will save her himself. Levi hears the message and is now determined to leave as well -- according to him, Gavin's message will help them prevent the blunder.
He and Diana begin to work on the plane and manage to fix the issue which would have led to the crash. However, they are confronted by Eve and Marybeth (Karina Logue), who believe they should wait instead. Marybeth draws her gun and so does Diana -- who is now frantic and hysterical, as she is desperate to leave, after being trapped for 3 years. Diana fires her gun and so does Marybeth, fatal wounding the former while one bullet hits the fuel tank of the plane as well. Diana bleeds to death and the group realizes that flying out is not an option now either, forcing them to wait for Gavin, as he is their only hope.
Back in the modern-day, Gavin's mission is heavily compromised, even though he and Aldridge manage to take the plane and fly out to La Brea. With M14s hot on his tail. ready to shoot him out of the air, Alridge claims she can't continue like this and gets ready to jump off the plane with her parachute. Gavin is desperate because the hole connecting the worlds will soon shut. As Aldridge abandons him, she tells him there is another way to save Eve and Josh and that he needs to remember November 16. With that ominous warning, she leaves, as Gavin decides he's going to go down with a fight. It is only until Izzy (Zyra Gorecki) contacts him and begs him to a comeback and he decides to do so. Back in the other land, the survivors watch as the tear in the sky shuts for good, leaving them trapped. Josh reminds Eve that having faith in Gavin costs them their only chance at escape.
