Kyle Rittenhouse isn't going to go quietly. The Kenosha shooter, who was found not guilty in one of 2021's most high-profile trials is now hitting back at all his critics, from Whoopi Goldberg, to President Joe Biden, and now even 'The King' himself - LeBron James. In an interview, Rittenhouse confirmed he was indeed going after James as well.

Days after Rittenhouse was acquitted, there were rumors he sued 'The View' stars Goldberg and Joy Behar, but were later proved to be false. He only confirmed legal action would be incoming in February 2022, starting with Goldberg. Dubbed 'The Media Accountability Project', the teenager is now going after multiple people. In order to do so, he's raising funds via a website for the project, which he has also promoted on social media.

Biden is also a big target for Rittenhouse as he had in a September 2020 campaign video called the teen a "White supremacist". That particular video has enraged both Rittenhouse and his supporters. Since being acquitted, Rittenhouse has become something of a celebrity for the far-right, speaking at conservative events like AmericaFest and CPAC. Clearly, he's now hoping to turn that popularity into financial support.

Why is Rittenhouse suing LeBron James?

During his 2021 trial, several high-profile celebrities like Goldberg came out to call him a "murderer" and "guilty" for shooting three people - two fatally - in Kenosha. James was one of the many celebrities to mock Rittenhouse when he took the stand in that case. On November 10, Rittenhouse broke down and cried as he recounted the events of August 25, 2020. James responded to those tears by tweeting, "What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court."

At the time, James was widely criticized by Rittenhouse's supporters, while he earned applause from the teen's critics for the tweet. However, Rittenhouse was clearly not impressed. On February 21, he said on The BlazeTV's 'You Are Here' show, "I liked LeBron. And, then I'm like, 'You know what, f--k you, LeBron." He added, "I was really pissed off that he said that." He doubled down on that criticism in a lengthy interview with Turning Point USA

"He’ll be getting a letter, too," Rittenhouse said when asked, "What are your plans for LeBron James?" Rittenhouse did not go into further details about the lawsuit, but safe to assume he's going to be requesting a huge amount from 'The King'. He went on to say, "Anybody who defamed me, or lied about me, we’re just gonna send them a letter and then deal with them in a courtroom."

It remains to be seen just how much weight a lawsuit would have, especially on someone like James who didn't call Rittenhouse guilty. It's also unclear how the teen is financing the fight, which is no doubt going to be extremely expensive. The teen certainly has plenty of supporters on social media, but it remains to be seen how many of them are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
