Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyers: How a chance meeting on movie set sparked love six years later
Kristen Stewart's love life has made headlines, time and again, for being especially high-profile. The 'Charlie's Angels' actress, who identifies herself as part of the LGBTQ+ community, has dated an array of popular celebrities including men and women, in the past. Her most publicized romance to date was with her 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson. She also had an on-and-off relationship with Victoria's Secret model Stella Maxwell and reportedly had an affair with 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders.
However, it seems that a happily-ever-after is in fact in the cards for Stewart, with her recent confession of love for current girlfriend Dylan Meyer who she assures is the one she wants to marry. She announced on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM radio in November 2019 that she "can't f***ing wait' to propose to Dylan."
"It's a short ride on this earth, spend your time with someone that inspires you to be the best version of yourself and lights your s*** on fire," she added.
So for her birthday on April 10, when the 'Underwater' star received an endearing tribute from Meyer via Instagram, everyone gushed over how cute the two are. "It’s my absolute favorite person's birthday and I’m wishing everyone the volume of beautiful feeling I feel toward her. It’s a short ride on this earth, spend your time with someone that inspires you to be the best version of yourself and lights your shit on fire," Meyer captioned a selfie of the two snuggling with each other in a restaurant booth.
The 30-year-old actress has a penchant for a private romance, but she seems to be absolutely besotted with Meyer. Here's what we know about their sweet relationship:
Friends to lovers
Stewart and Meyer, who is a screenwriter, had known each other for six years, prior to dating. On the Howard Stern Show, where she made an appearance in November 2019, she said she met Meyer on a movie set. The two lost each other's contact until they met at a mutual friend's birthday party and instantly connected.
“The day that I met her, it was like all bets were off,” Stewart told Stern. “I met her years ago on a movie and I hadn’t seen her in six years, and then she rocked up at a friend’s birthday party, and I was like, ‘Where have you been, and how have I not known you?’ She’s been living in L.A. alongside my life somehow but not ever converging.”
Speculations that they were dating were circulating all around, but since Stewart had just broken up with her then-girlfriend, Stella Maxwell, not much was thought of it. It wasn't until August 2019, that the couple went public when they were spotted together in New York City.
Later, a source close to E! also confirmed, "Kristen is spending time with Dylan and very happy about it. She was seeing Stella for a little bit while it worked, but now she has moved on with Dylan." The source also said that the two are focusing on building their relationship.
Confessions of love within two weeks of dating
Stewart revealed in the Howard Stern talk show that she said 'I love you' to Meyer, two weeks into dating her.
“The first time I told her I loved her, it was really late and we were in some shitty bar and her friends were there or whatever, and they walked out,” she said, “and I was just like, ‘Oh, man, I’m so f***ing in love with you.’ Like, done.”
It's serious
Meyer's Twitter gives ample hints that her blissful relationship with Stewart is pretty serious, and the paparazzi photos don't do them justice. In one of her tweets, Meyer said, "There is nothing like falling in love with someone to make you abruptly aware of all the different dumb/embarrassing/unsolicited directions your hair can go."
And as Stewart said, they've talked marriage.
There's PDA evidence
Stewart and Meyer seem to love to express their affections for each other, in public. In September 2019, the two cozied up to each other at the Toronto International Film Festival. In photographs published by the Daily Mail, the two were spotted with their hands intertwined. Fast forward to November, and Stewart makes the big revelation that she wants to marry her girlfriend. She doesn't know when or how she is going to do it, but she's sure it'll be on impulse.
