In a story by Harper's Bazaar from around two decades ago, Guilfoyle and her then-husband Newsom were labeled as 'The New Kennedys'. The photo shows the former couple dressed in formals and casually posing on a rug looking super polished.

Guilfoyle was married to Newsom from 2001 to 2006. While he served as mayor, she was the first lady of San Fransisco. In 2006, after their divorce, she married Eric Villency. Villency and Guilfoyle had a son during the period of their three-year marriage. She was popular in the media as a TV host and an American attorney.
It is assumed that after being friends with the Trump family for years, the couple - Guilfoyle and Trump Jr - became friends as their children attended the same school in Manhattan. Reportedly, Guilfoyle was also in talks to become the White House press secretary. In 2018, Donald Trump Jr and his ex-wife Vanessa filed for divorce. Three months later, Trump Jr and Guilfoyle started dating. This became serious when the couple bought a mansion together in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
In 2020 on New Year's Eve, Trump Jr popped the question with an 8-carat diamond ring.
