Kim Kardashian had to face the wrath of netizens after she apparently body-shamed her younger sister Kylie Jenner when she was pregnant with her second child. The new show of the Kardashian clan, titled — ‘The Kardashians’ — dropped on Hulu on Thursday, April 14, and it showed the 41-year-old model rudely commenting on Kylie’s six-month-pregnant body.
When the shooting for the show was happening, the youngest sister of the famous family was pregnant with her and Travis Scott’s second baby. In the first episode of the series, it has been shown that Kylie came to Kim’s family barbeque, and her elder sister predicted that she would have a boy this time. Kim said, “I think it’s a boy,” while the 24-year-old and their 66-year-old mother Kris Jenner listened.

The mother-of-four then went on to say: “You’re skinnier this way, you’re prettier than you were last time.” Both Kylie and their mother looked shocked over Kim’s statement as Kris asked, “How could she be anyway prettier?” To which, Kim explained: “The girls take the beauty to give it to themselves. The boys know what’s up and they let you be a little bit prettier.”
The socialite’s comments did not go down well with people online as a Reddit user said, “Kim legit says the most Karen things ever.” The second one wrote, “Nah she’s a b***h for this. Just how she literally almost had a mental break down when Kourtney had a stretch mark. Bye.” The third one shared their personal experience while commenting, “Kim’s just all about putting people down, any woman that is smarter/prettier/etc. she HAS to put down. My siblings talk like that to eo and they laugh but the second I do half that to my sister, she cries like Kim.”
One user tried to defend Kim while saying, “It’s an old wives tale that girls take the expectant mom’s beauty. I am certainly not a Kim apologist but I get where it’s coming from. It’s not nearly as critical or passive aggressive as it sounds.” Another person mentioned: “The relationship these women will have with their teenage daughter will be…interesting Kim and Khloe feel like the moms who compete against their daughter.”
A comment on Reddit read: “It sounds like Kim is trying too hard to sound cooler and it’s annoying and hurtful. She’s starting to sound like the mom from mean girls in the worst way possible. I think she thinks it’s cute when In reality she sounds super shallow and just flat out weird.” Another comment was “Ummm this is disgusting. This is so so so bad and broke my little heart that has worked so hard at relationship with my mom. I can’t deal with superstitious things like this being said about BABIES. We grow up feeling and believing that stuff. It becomes part of our psyche without even realizing it and keeps our therapists employed :(.”
A user pointed out, “Again why is anyone surprised she did the same to Rob didn’t he not come to her wedding because she kept making fun of his weight. Didn’t she shame Kourtney for being fat after giving birth. This is the same Kim that said Kourtney should cut up her outfit because it’s so ugly to her face when they were opening up a clinic to honor their dad.” The second user remarked, “Old wives tale or not- Kim is someone who knows Kylie has some deep rooted insecurities about her body.
