Spoilers for Season 3 Episode 3 'Meetings Have Biscuits'

Even with Villanelle and Eve's path crossing being the biggest highlight of Season 3 Episode 3, there's no denying that, in all probability, this season will delve deeper into the origins of Villanelle — finally giving us the backstory of the coveted Russian assassin with a closet full of couture.

All the intriguing aspects of Villanelle's character are made even more addictive by the way Jodie Comer essays her. Capturing her childlike tantrums and gritty penchant for elaborate murder scenes, Comer has made us fall in love with a psychopath who kills for fun and spares no one, repeatedly.

However, the one thing we are still in the dark about is the character's backstory. What made her a sociopath? Where did the murderous instincts begin? Why is her fashion sense so enviable? What makes her turn into a child in her superior's presence?

These are the questions that haunt us about an antagonist we just can't get enough off. And thanks to the third episode titled 'Meetings Have Biscuits', there is some hope that we might get all the answers soon.

Throughout the third episode, Villanelle can be seen unwittingly babysitting a toddler after murdering his mother and the nanny. She doesn't like the crying but laughs when the baby chortles and is thrilled when he flings a piece of food onto Dasha.

Dasha — just an older version of Villanelle with a thicker Russian accent — thinks its funny to pick up the baby and sit him in a nearby trashcan. This only seems to amuse Villanelle more as she erupts into a split before soon forgetting about the baby.

Later in the episode, however, when the news reports a random baby having been found in a dustbin, Villanelle can't stop marveling at how can the baby be so happy all the time.

Her string of thoughts immediately leads her to wonder what she was like as a baby — something she brings up right after scaring the life out of Konstantin by hiding under the sheets in his bed.

Villanelle keeps bringing it up even though the former handler isn't interested. She claims she was quite cute and just to shut her up, Konstantin says she was actually quite ugly with a giant, bulbous head.

He claims he known so from a picture, but upon being pestered, can't remember who Villanelle was with in the photograph. It's obvious he is either lying or hiding something and the chances of it being the latter are amplified by Villanelle claiming she is going to seek out her actual family.

It was probably one of her elaborate claims that whiff into thin air seconds later, but if she really does manage to find out her actual family, perhaps a lot of her psyche and eccentricity will be explained.

Maybe it runs in the family or maybe it's just her being the black sheep. However, it's definitely going to be every bit as amusing as her murders and tantrums, and most likely, won't make us wait for all that long to discover.

'Killing Eve' Season 3 airs on Sundays at 9 pm on BBC America.
